Position TitleGraphic Designer

Job Responsibilities

Truman State University's Publications Office is seeking a graphic designer for both traditional print publications and motion graphics. This position requires excellent concept and design skills. The individual must be able to produce high quality designs and be able to multi-task various projects, prioritizing them to meet tight deadlines. Accuracy is a must. The successful candidate needs to have a strong knowledge of producing publications for both print and digital needs. They need to have strong written and oral communication skills. This position works with a variety of clients including staff, faculty, students, and vendors. A high standard for quality of work and professionalism is expected. The candidate needs a good understanding of branding and must be able to work within the guidelines of Truman's brand requirements. Responsibilities will include a variety of design projects and other duties as assigned. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, on-site position.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in design or a related field with one year of experience in graphic design; or an associate's degree in design or a related field with two years of experience in graphic design.Strong working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.Knowledge of Microsoft applications.Ability to produce illustrations.Strong written and oral communications skills.Ability to be accurate and pay attention to detail.Ability to work with a variety of people from different backgrounds.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple jobs.Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Mac.Ability to work with variable data.Strong illustration skills.Ability to create animated gifs.Strong portfolio showcasing creative and technical skills in motion graphics and animation.Experience with 3D animation and composting software is a plus.

SalaryThe salary for this position ranges from $35,000 to $45,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
