With a 121-seat theater and a fully-equipped scene shop, we create an immersive experience for both our patrons and the artists we work with. As we embark into our 41st season of productions, we are looking for a talented lighting designer to to help bring our final production of the season, opening May 2025, to life.Job Description: As a Lighting Designer with Milagro, you will play a crucial role in the realization of our productions, contributing your skills in theatre design and tech to create captivating and immersive productions. You will work closely with our Production Team to transform our vision into reality, ensuring that the show becomes a visual masterpiece. Here is the preliminary schedule for your information:Preliminary Schedule:Production meetings begin: 3/12/2025Load-In: 4/21/2025Tech: 4/25-5/1/2025Performance Run: 5/2-5/17/2025Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Production Team to develop and execute the lighting designAttend weekly production meetings with Production Team (via Zoom)Design and deliver lighting plot, hookups, and cuesEnsure that all lighting instruments and elements are safe and functionalAssist with load-in, hang/focus, cue-to-cue, and strike activitiesMaintain an organized lighting inventoryQualifications:Prior experience in lighting design for theater productionsFamiliarity with lighting programs including QLabAbility to deliver rough and final lighting plots, and all paperwork including hookups and cuesAbility to work in a team and take direction from the Production TeamAttention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workFlexibility to work within the provided schedule, including evenings and weekendsSpanish proficiency a plusLocated in the Portland Metro area with reliable transportation to and from the theatreCompensation: Compensation for this position will be discussed during the interview.How to Apply: If you are passionate about theater, have the skills and experience required, and want to be a part of bringing our production to life, we'd love to hear from you.
