Description

Claflin University is looking for a multimedia graphic designer with a distinctive creative aesthetic and strong complementary technical skills to join its Communications & Marketing team. Serve under the leadership of the Assistant Vice President for Communications and Marketing.The multimedia graphic designer will use program information and data to create original products, videos, and graphics to present a more consistent look throughout all aspects of university marketing and communications. This position offers opportunities to grow and innovate working on projects ranging from event identities and promotions to motion graphics/video to printed and online magazines to social media campaigns. Duties will include:Designing and developing content for advertising, email, social media, website and other digital platforms.Producing/editing videos for online platforms.Taking ideas from concept to execution, working with project managers, creatives, media planning, and content experts to deliver effective digital solutions.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver designs that are creative, useful, and align with technical, usability and brand standards.Ensuring consistency in designs and content across digital platforms.Reviewing online marketing content to identify room for improvement.Providing advice and guidance on the aesthetic for campaigns, projects, and events.Perform other duties within the scope of this position.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field5 years of proven experienceProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, Animate, Acrobat, Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint and Excel; layout, design and typography skills; graphic illustration and animation skills; project management skills; commercial printing experience; videography and editing skills, and experience creating social media graphics.Experience in developing materials from concept to completion and working collaboratively with colleagues and clients is critical.
