Job Description:

Arcadia University is looking for an energetic and creative thinker to join our MarCom team as a Multimedia Designer. The ideal candidate will possess a creative and imaginative aptitude and awareness of current trends and a sharp eye for detail. This position assists the MarCom design, photography, video, and multimedia needs - including print, digital, social, web, video, and animation - to convey Arcadia's brand messages. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent time-management skills and able to collaborate to produce multimedia content that crosses all mediums and platforms. The ideal candidate must understand the creative process and adhere to brand guidelines. The Multimedia Designer should be familiar with Adobe Suites, ID, PS, AI, and Premiere. Candidates should also have experience on set at photo and video shoots.

The Multimedia Designer reports to the Creative Director and is a vital member of the creative team. This creative thinker is dedicated to maintaining the highest brand standards and can produce high-quality content and shape the visual identity of Arcadia University. This person will be responsible for creating eye-catching content that engages all stakeholder groups, including prospective students and their families, alumni and donors, current students and parents, the media, and higher education influencers. This creative team supports Arcadia in achieving its strategic goals and manages Arcadia's graphic and editorial standards and style.

Responsibilities :

Develop visual solutions for campaigns across units with different target audiences and across marketing channels.

Design from concept through completion projects for print and digital platforms, including publications and reports, advertising (print and digital, including paid), website, brochures, posters, flyers, emails, social media, environmental/large format.

Create visually appealing motion graphics, animations, and visual effects to enhance video content.

Support the video team by editing video that conveys Arcadia's core messages and engages Arcadia's primary audiences, using Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects.

Assist with the planning and development of photo and video shoots, including location scouting, talent acquisition, setup and breakdown, film download and archive, editing, tagging, and taxonomy system, and fulfilling photo requests and metadata.

Support the video and social teams, by distributing, editing, posting, sharing, and uploading content to the

University and subsites across the website, social media channels, Vimeo, and YouTube channels, as needed.

Help manage the digital asset management system for all photography and videography, including tagging and taxonomy system, photo editing, and metadata.

Collaborate with team members and across units to complete projects and support University initiatives. Contribute as a creative professional and strategic partner by participating in brainstorming sessions with clients and teams.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve graphic and video quality and storytelling techniques.

Manage printers, binders, and external vendors, including price negotiations, managing press proofs, delivery and fulfillment coordination

Manage and mentor student workers.

Cover and work University events, as needed. Some nights and weekends.

Qualifications :

4+ years of design experience; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in graphic design, video production, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least four years of relevant graphic design experience and production experience in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator

At least four years of relevant multimedia and video production experience in Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects.

Skills Required:

Excellent design, communication and organizational skills.

Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere and After Effects. Proficiency in WordPress a plus. Knowledge of email marketing software a plus.

Demonstrated ability to monitor and manage several assignments concurrently, including collaborating with

Creative Team and across the MarCom department in the execution of graphic design and video editing projects as assigned.

Comfortable with working under tight deadlines and pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Strong attention to detail.

Team player.

Effectively communicate verbally / in writing.

Photography Skills a bonus.
