Part-Time Grant Writer

JOB SUMMARY:

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven part-time Grant Writer to join the agencys External Relations department, reporting to the Senior Grants Manager.

The Grant Writer will be able to: write concisely and compellingly about the mission and programs of the agency; work autonomously and be conscientious about deadlines; generate accurate and high-quality grant proposals and letters of inquiry to foundation, corporate and government funding sources that support agency programs, as well as reports to agency funders. The Grant Writer will also research and follow up on new potential funding opportunities. An ideal candidate will have:

Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the organizationResearch new grant prospects and opportunities from government and non-government agenciesDraft grant proposals and supporting documentsSubmit proposals to Senior Grants Manager for approvalResponsible for writing grant proposals as assigned by Senior Grants ManagerRead and interpret Requests for Proposals and funding guidelinesMaintain electronic files on all current and prospective corporate donors, foundations, and government grantmakers.Input prospective data into Salesforce CRM SystemMaintain up-to-date boilerplate templates.Write high-quality proposals and prepare reports on grants received.Other writing projects and responsibilities may be added at the Agency's discretion.Effective at working with others to reach common goals and objectivesOther duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree required. Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred.

Minimum three (3) years' experience in grant writing or equivalent field; experience with government grants highly preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications especially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

OTHER INFORMATION:

This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours/week) with flexibility for a hybrid of in-person and remote work.

The agency serves approximately 2,000 children and youth from 12 metro Atlanta counties on an annual basis.
