The YMCA of Rapid City is looking for a creative and passionate Part-Time Graphic Designer to join our team. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As our Graphic Designer, you will report to the Director of Marketing and play a crucial role in communicating and promoting the YMCA's mission and programs.
As our Graphic Designer, you will work closely with the Director of Marketing to understand the goals and objectives of various projects. Your responsibilities will include developing, editing, and publishing attractive, accurate, and timely print communication pieces consistent with the Y Voice. These materials will contribute to gaining new YMCA members and program participants and include program guides, brochures, flyers, and posters. Additionally, you will coordinate building signage, both digital and physical, and create social media content that promotes YMCA membership and programs.
A significant part of your role will involve designing the Annual Report for the Annual Membership Meeting held each March. You will also provide design assistance for various programs and outreach efforts as needed. These projects may include special event programs and guides, employee materials, program flyers, philanthropic materials, advocacy materials, or early learning program communication materials. To ensure content collection is smooth and deadlines are met, you will check in weekly with the Director of Marketing to provide updates on existing projects.
This position requires a minimum of 15 hours per week. Remote candidates located in the United States will be considered based on experience.
To qualify for this position, you should have at least an associate's degree in graphic design, media technology, marketing, communications, or similar studies, or at least 3 years of related field experience. You must have demonstrated skills in quality graphic design and media technology support, with strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Express, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Lightroom. The ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and a valid driver's license are required. Additionally, you must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
