GENERAL FUNCTION :To conceptualize, design and implement graphic design artwork for television, web, apps, social media, marketing and corporate needs in accordance with C-SPAN's brand guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

High degree of proficiency in creating the right visual element to deliver high-quality, newsy, audience-focused content.

Designs animations, graphics and graphic templates used across all C-SPAN television productions and promotions.

Designs in-studio and production elements, including backgrounds, studio monitor graphics and side-by-side or specialized boxes.

Designs all graphic artwork for digital and print paid advertising, marketing and corporate promotional collateral materials, educator-focused classroom posters and promotional materials and corporate sponsorship or tradeshow promotional materials as needed.

In coordination with digital developers, designs high quality artwork for C-SPAN's various websites and apps in a manner consistent with other company platforms.

Coordinates closely with our video and editorial teams to create visual text and imagery concepts with an emphasis on UX/UI design concepts and mobile experiences.

Designs logos, icons and other graphics for website video and display advertisements, electronic program guides, podcasts or special projects that support a unified look across the company's multimedia platforms.

Coordinates with internal and external clients to ensure project objectives, design parameters, deadlines and approvals are all adhered to.

Monitors graphics equipment to ensure proper maintenance, updating and troubleshooting of any issues in order to keep the technical work environment functional and in compliance with C-SPAN's internal policies.

Coordinates closely with Managers, Designers and Producers to ensure that artwork is creative, consistent and clear.

Contributes as a member of the Multimedia Creative Services team and collaborates both within the unit and across the company.

BACKGROUND SKILLS :

High level of skill in Adobe Creative Cloud with strong knowledge of Premier, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and InDesign.

Designing vector-based assets in Illustrator, Flash, Director, Quark and some HTML experience is also required.

Exceptional organizational skills and the desire to work within a creative and highly collaborative team environment.

Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality.

Ability to manage large volumes of content and archival items.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet long and short-term deadlines.

Present creative work at various stages for review, feedback and approval.

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, design or a related field.

Knowledge Canva, Mondays.com, Teams, Mondays, Microsoft Office, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter.

Minimum two years of related professional work experience.

A strong portfolio of previous work, showcasing graphic design elements.

Must be willing to work a hybrid schedule which includes working on-site at our Washington DC office.
