Steelcase is seeking an experienced

Interior Designer

to join the Steelcase Events team. This Designer will create progressive and dynamic settings that inspire both internal and external event attendees at a variety of events - conferences, tradeshows and other promotional events. Candidate will be responsible for designing environments that are guided by Steelcase research and insights, creating meaningful and thoughtful environments which provide high impact. Candidate will provide holistic design solutions and be responsible for all aspects of design from early conceptual design through onsite project execution. Exceptional space planning skills, as well as proficiency in crafting and delivering client presentations is required.

Skills:Outstanding knowledge of design and delineation of interior space types.Ability to conceptualize thoughtful design concepts and then express them both verbally and through the drawings/deliverable.Familiarity with furniture specifications and order processHigh level of commitmentFast learner and team player working to execute events on time and on budgetComfortable with changeDetail oriented and highly organizedAble to solve problems with a logical approach and with a sometimes limited time frameMust have proven capability to manage and fulfill design needs for a wide array of eventsAbility to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of a teamAbility to multi-task and work with multiple internal/external clients simultaneouslyOutstanding time management skills to produce quality work in a timely mannerStrong writing and verbal communications skillsAbility to plan for and bring brand and messaging to life through designAble and willing to coach jr. level designer in daily tasksSelf-motivated, self-directed and willing to accept responsibility for resultsDeveloped knowledge base of regional codes (Fire codes, exiting, etc.).Requirements:

4-6 years of experience in similar roleBachelor's degree in interior design or similarAble to work flexible hours including evenings or weekend when onsite (4-6Xs a year)Able to travel as needed. Occasional heavy travel required +/- 25% at peak seasons.CETAutoCAD 2DSketchUpMS Office environment proficientAdobe Suite (a plus)NCIDQ (a plus)
