Position Summary:

The Marketing Communications Specialist plans and implements marketing and communications programs, working with our Product Management and Sales Departments. Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills are required. This position will take advertising and promotion concepts and work with a team of Graphic Designers to implement projects such as marketing assets, presentation decks, white papers, infographics, industry research, programmatic marketing, email, and sales collateral. This position requires the ability to translate product information from hundreds of products into promotional materials without having in-depth knowledge of the products.

Overview of Essential Duties / Functions:Developing marketing plans for a wide variety of projects including market research (surveys), advertising, direct mail, email, sales collateral, social media marketing, webinars, and trade shows.Working individually or with a team to identify, evaluate, and recommend marketing opportunities based on a set of provided objectives.Writing articles for company publications, as well as reviewing and editing marketing publications and catalogs to ensure accuracy of all communications - including both print and web mediums.Working with a team of Graphic Designers to create and execute marketing projects.Providing estimates of costs for projects and recommending the most economical and efficient methods of production.Ensuring that the company's corporate branding is executed as appropriate in all communications and to execute projects that promote the company, as well as the products we represent, through press releases, corporate advertising, and the company website.Providing a positive and qualitative contribution to the success of the client, team, co-workers, other customers and DSC. Contribute in team activities, strategic planning, provide regular communication of productivity, and perform other responsibilities as conditions warrant.Other duties as required.Qualifications

Education / Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience working in Marketing;Ability to handle, prioritize and organize multiple tasks while expecting constant change;Excellent written communication skills, including editing and proofing abilities;Familiarity with Microsoft Office products: including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; and presentation tools including Keynote and PreziAbility to work independently under deadlines with minimal guidance.Knowledgeable in education technology and educationExcellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third partiesBachelor's degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, related field, or equivalent experiencePersonal Characteristics:

This position requires the ability to occasionally move throughout the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.Consistently operates a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine, computer printer, calculator, etc.Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the work-day.Ability to frequently communicate, both verbally and written, with employees, management, vendors and customers.
