Purple, Rock, Scissors has an exciting opportunity for a Motion Designer to support a large tech client of ours. This role support the payments team within the organization. Payments is the central source for payments design styles, tokens, components and templates that partner teams can use to deliver features within the payments ecosystem. They aim to simplify the launch process and enable internal teams to create simple, modern, and cohesive experiences. To achieve this mission they provide design resources including a Figma sticker sheet, design guidelines documentation, and more, across all products.

Role Type: Full Time, 6 Month Contract with option to extend

Locations Preferred: US East Coast

Will require extensive onboarding, background/education/employment checks, and credentialing.

As a Motion Designer within the payments team of this client, you will be a key contributor to the visual language and user experience of their various payment products. You will collaborate closely with UX Researchers, Designers, Illustrators, and Engineers to elevate the user experience through motion design, ensuring delightful, intuitive, and cohesive interactions across all of their payment platforms.

Responsibilities

Collaborate effectively with UX Research, Design, Illustration and Engineering to identify, prioritize, implement & validate motion design opportunities within existing and upcoming features. his includes working on existing features and upcoming projects, ensuring that motion design is integrated seamlessly into the product development lifecycle.Design and implement robust, usable and delightful motion solutions that adhere to GM3 guidelines, addressing pain points like inconsistencies, low feature discoverability, and jarring transitions.Create a motion design system and playbook for Payments, ensuring scalability and consistency across products and platforms.Own and maintain design, management, and maintenance of motion libraries and specsQualifications

Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.6 years of experience in product design or UX.Motion design experience related to physics, patterns, and visual design elements. Strong sense of spatial relationships, choreography and composition.Understand the intricacies of UI elements (color, type, layout, iconography, surfaces) and leverage appropriate prototyping tools to help demonstrate how interactions with those elements behave based on user needs.Experience contributing to mature design systems including motion design, documentation, and education.Knowledge of technical constraints in designing for web, iOS, and Android.Comfortable working with front end engineering teams for web and mobile user interfaces. Big plus if you've contributed code for web or native apps.Experience with accessibility standards.Advocate of user-centered design principles across multiple platforms, and great technical know-howsCan work within constraints, and execute with attention to detail.Strong ability/vision to navigate complex problems by devising beautiful creative solutionsStrong communication, collaboration and creative problem-solving skills.Expert with Figma, with strong awareness of its strengths and limitationsPortfolio highlighting multiple projects, with at least one focusing on a design system.
