CONTENT STRATEGIST– 70000093

This advertisement is for a Career Service position Located at Central Office Tallahassee, FL in the Office of Communications.

Salary Range: $47,250.06 - $50,400.22 annually

SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversees and manages Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) social media, working collaboratively with program areas, institutions, and offices.

Compiles, reviews, and maintains content across statewide FDC social media platforms and channels.

Coordinates and facilitates reviewing and approving social media content to ensure consistent branding and messaging.

Serves as a member of the FDC statewide marketing contract workgroup.

Compiles analytical data reports for presentations regarding social media activity.

Enhances the Department’s digital presence through development of social media and website content.

Tracks key social media posts and monitors relevant news and content.

Write and reviews press release, newsletters, blogs, and other content.

Maintains awareness with the latest social media platform developments.

Secures social media platforms.

Designs and implements successful social media campaigns.

Set up tracking systems for content creation.

Track progress with the Strategic Communications Manager.

Collaborates with the creative teams to produce promotional materials.

Crafts clear product marketing copy for statewide marketing campaigns.

Drafts agency newsletters intended for statewide dissemination.

Takes photos, video and develops creative content when needed.

Prepares (monthly, quarterly, and annual) forecasts and performs other responsibilities as deemed appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of AP style and the rules of grammar and punctuation.

Knowledge of the principles and techniques of public relations, public information, mass communications, journalism, news reporting, editing, advertising, marketing, or photography.

Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

Knowledge of office procedures and practices.

Skill in the use of social media and knowledge of best practices per platform.

Ability to prepare and analyze analytic reports for social media and websites.

Ability to assist in developing long range goals and objectives.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Ability to select and provide appropriate information to others.

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Ability to occasionally work with communications field staff inside of correctional institutions, probation offices and in the community to obtain content.

Ability to occasionally work outside of traditional work hours to accomplish tasks as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in communications, public relations, or a related fieldortwo years of professional experience in social media management, news reporting, public relations, public information, advertising, marketing, mass communications or journalism.
