A traditional German-style Christmas Market is set up at the Seattle Center next to the Space Needle from November – December 2024, but the work starts now! The market will feature traditional European food and merchandise to spread Christmas Cheer in our community and beyond.The Seattle Christmas Market (SCM) will be entering its second year of operation after a breakout start in 2023. With an expected attendance of over 180,000 guests, our month-long market experience is the first of its kind in Washington State. e)The Marketing Manager will develop and execute marketing, advertising, and public relations campaigns to drive attendance and maximize revenue for the Seattle Christmas Market. This role includes overseeing special events coordination and sponsorship acquisition. Strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a passion for creating engaging experiences are essential.Schedule and Location:Full-time, Hybrid (2-5 days in Office) until September, transitioning to full on-site presence in October through December.On-site presence during market hours, including evenings and weekends from November to December.The position is evolving, and responsibilities may be added/changed at any time.Roles and Responsibilities:Strategic Planning and Campaign Management:Develop and execute marketing, advertising, and public relations campaigns in collaboration with agencies.Collaborate with a full-service marketing agency and internal/external partners to develop integrated strategies.Lead detailed campaign planning, including timelines, budgets, and KPIs.Compile reports to assess campaign performance.Create and handle promotional materials and signage.Coordinate media and press visits, participate in interviews.Recruit sponsors and partners, create sponsor presentations.Implement marketing strategies across various channels.Drive brand reach and ticket sales.Monitor social media and email channels.Small design work for signage and other designs using Adobe Creative SuiteTeam Leadership and Collaboration:Manage on-site promotional staff, oversee street promotions.Cultivate relationships with media and press outlets.Identify and pursue sponsorship and partnership opportunities.Creative Development and Content Strategy:Collaborate with agencies and vendors on creative assets and content strategies.Stay updated on industry trends, conduct market research.Event Planning and Execution:Lead planning and execution of events and activations at the Market.Drive brand visibility through digital marketing and social media.Create engaging events, manage entertainment booking.Explore new events and promotions.Collaboration with Vancouver Marketing Team:Manage market reputation according to brand guidelines.Collaborate with Front of House team for staffing special events.Create workflows for group bookings, implement guest journey in Showpass.Provide information to manage on-site group bookings.Support guest services for on-site troubleshooting.Additional duties may be assigned to support the success of the Seattle Christmas Market.Requirements and Selection Criteria:Proven experience 5+ years in marketing, advertising, and public relations.Experience with event planning and execution.Strong leadership and team management skills.Strategic thinking and ability to develop comprehensive marketing plans.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in digital marketing, social media, and content creation.Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and partners.Strong organizational and project management skills.Ability to analyze market trends and adapt strategies accordingly.Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.Strong knowledge using Microsoft Office package.Basic knowledge using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.Good Knowledge in Project Management software – Airtable is a plusKnowledge of European Christmas Markets is a plusBasic Knowledge using Google Analytics and Meta Business SuiteExperience using Showpass is a plusAvailability to work weekends in November and December, including December 24th and 26th.Travel Requirement:A valid passport is necessary for occasional travel to Vancouver, Canada for training and team collaboration purposes.
