Job Title: Marketing and Communications Manager

Schedule: Full-time, Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

This position reports to and collaborates with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, to develop and implement innovative marketing and communication strategies across various media platforms with the goal to expand and engage Noorda-COM’s audiences. This multi-faceted role combines marketing strategy, communications, and public relations to drive awareness, engagement, and support for the college. The position also has oversight responsibility for the management of the Noorda-COM brand, website, and social media platforms, and supervises the Administrative Coordinator for Marketing and Communications. The ideal candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker with a background in marketing and communications. The candidate should have a passion for storytelling, a creative mindset for experimenting with new ideas, and a deep understanding of current digital marketing best practices.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Marketing

  • Collaboratively create, plan, develop, and execute short- and long-term integrated marketing strategies for Noorda-COM. Support the Vice President of Institutional Advancement in their role as it relates to marketing and communication strategy and planning.
  • Develop budget recommendation to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement for approval.
  • Work in collaboration with various Noorda-COM units and departments to assist with their marketing and communications needs to include, but not be limited to: Student Affairs (student recruitment and retention), Clinical Affairs (preceptor recruitment, engagement, and retention), Health Clinics (clinic branding and patient engagement), and others as requested.
  • Strengthen the Noorda-COM brand experience among regional and national audiences, including current and prospective students, faculty and peers, donors and prospective donors, government and community leaders, the media, and other external audiences.
  • Develop, oversee, and manage all advertising campaigns.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures related to Institutional Advancement and Marketing and Communications are adhered to.
  • Perform market research on current methodologies across various marketing channels and highlight patterns, trends, and tendencies of Noorda-COM target audiences.
  • Use data and metrics to evaluate and adapt strategies to address the evolving needs of Noorda-COM and it programs.

Website and Social Media

  • Provide managerial oversight of the Noorda-COM website, to include coordination with all content owners and continuous enhancements to platform and content material including assuming compliance with all accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee work of the Administrative Coordinator for Marketing and Communications in their duties to ensure website content is current, correct, and user-friendly.
  • Maintain website updates to ensure use issues ae resolved promptly.
  • Oversee work of the Administrative Coordinator for Marketing and Communications in their duties to ensure social media platforms are updated and providing appropriate and timely content.

Public and Media Relations

  • Working with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, provide managerial oversight of the Noorda-COM public and media relations activities, to include providing training and guidance to Noorda-COM leaders, faculty, and staff on all media contacts, communications, and/or interactions to include message, promotion, etc. in which a Noorda-COM representative has been asked to serve as an official representative, content expert, or spokesperson on behalf of the College.
  • Oversee the work of the Administrative Coordinator for Marketing and Communications in their duties to prepare media advisories and press releases as appropriate and coordinate media interviews, including providing talking points/bullet points in advance of any interviews.
  • Develop and manage Noorda-COM’s speakers’ bureau for content experts and public speaking engagement opportunities.
  • Actively promote Noorda-COM faculty experts, events, programs, achievements, and activities to local, regional, and national media and to other internal and external audiences.
  • Assist with event management and/or support for Noorda-COM events.
  • Provide oversight for communications and marketing-related components of Noorda-COM events and promote Noorda-COM events through all communication channels.

Q UALIFICATIONS

Education and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or other relevant field from an accredited institution of higher education. Preference given to candidates with a master’s degree in a relevant field of study.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive professional marketing experience, with preference given to candidates with experience in a medical school or higher education environment. Demonstrated experience in developing and executing marketing strategies and a proven track record for content creation and digital marketing.

Skills amp; Abilities:

  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop compelling messaging.
  • Strong verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal/human relations skills.
  • Critical thinking with a mindset for creativity
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to base decisions off experimentation and tracking.
  • Ability to manage budgets and be fiscally responsible.
  • Experience writing, editing, and moving a project through design, print, and mail logistics.
  • Passion for storytelling and thinking outside the box.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Constant Contact or other CRM, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva
  • Google Ads qualification – preferred and experience with Google analytics
  • WordPress or other website development experience
  • Basic HTML and website publishing, especially via WordPress

Work Environment:

  • This is an on-site, in-office based position.
  • This position requires some early morning, evening, and weekend work as needed.
