Description Columbus Crew is seeking an energetic and collaborative Grassroots Marketing Coordinator to drive the Crew brand throughout Ohio. The Grassroots Marketing Coordinator is responsible for building relationships with key stakeholders in the community, generating new business leads, and helping provide access to the game & brand to drive fandom. This position will help develop & execute the Club's grassroots and community marketing strategy and work across all business functions of the Club and primarily collaborate with community, soccer operations, marketing and ticket sales. Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Execute the Club's grassroots and community marketing strategy and day-to-day calendar
  • Build relationships with community organizations and event stakeholders that align and help elevate the Crew brand
  • Drive leads to the Sales Department and work closely with Business Analytics to track revenue tied to leads
  • Collaborate with Community Relations, Youth Soccer & Camp Departments to ensure we are closely tied to youth soccer tournaments and developing "free play" programs in the area
  • Create experiential activations that is inviting, engaging, and telling of the "Crew Fan Experience"
  • Assist with hiring of the Energy Crew
  • Schedule the Energy Crew for all community activations, Pub Network Events & matchday
  • Serve as, or assign, an on-site, lead during community activations
  • Collaborate with social/ digital and creative teams to ensure delivery of all creative assets and supporting information for events and promotions
  • Help develop the college outreach program
  • Serve as day-to-day contact & scheduler for eMLS player
  • Assist with MLS & MLS Next Pro matchdays, as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by Sr. Director, Events & Grassroots Marketing & Manager, Fan Culture & Development
Required skills, experience & abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Marketing or related fields
  • Minimum of two (2) years experiential marketing, event manager, operations, community outreach or fan engagement experience through full-time or internship opportunities
  • Experience within the Columbus market a plus, but not required
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude with keen eye for attention to detail
  • Collaborative inter-departmentally
  • Creative thinker with an ability to stay organized with multiple projects with various deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a large group of staff and/or volunteers
  • Must be a reliable, dependable, and positive team-player
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Able to work home matches and events
  • Able to work some evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Valid US Driver's license
