We are seeking a creative, strategic, and enthusiastic Marketing Manager to join our team. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the strategy and execution of marketing campaigns, partnerships and initiatives in support of the seafood portfolio of events. Working with a highly collaborative, disciplined approach, the ideal candidate will thrive on managing a variety of key marketing initiatives concurrently in a dynamic organization.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:
Work directly and in alignment with the Marketing Director to develop key product marketing campaigns and strategies.
Develop a full marketing cycle calendar and strategy to support offerings in the Seafood Expo events’ portfolio (to promote transparency and collaboration within the seafood events and internal resources (e.g., Web, Inbound Marketing, Data, Research, Editorial, and Executive) for all aspects of visitor/attendee marketing.
Supervisory responsibilities for Visitor Marketing Coordinators and Key Buyer (KB) & Attendee Acquisition Coordinator (ACC).
Manage Marketing Coordinators, assigning long- and short-term tasks and projects, answering questions to encourage independent work, and reviewing and approving content. Take active role in helping Marketing Coordinators expand skillset and industry understanding, sharing marketing best practices and advocating for professional development opportunities as appropriate.
Develop comprehensive personas for the Seafood Expo events’ target audiences, including KB, past reg and prospects.
Evaluate market, product and prospect data to develop future strategies. Identify new platforms and/or opportunities to increase brand awareness, engagement, and conversion.
Actively monitor the competitive landscape (with Marketing Director) and ensure Seafood Expo events’ value proposition is aligned with the needs of the market.
Work with Marketing Director and Web team to maintain Seafood Expo events’ web presence, developing and executing strategies to optimize and improve the customer journey. Take an active role in maintaining content and analyzing performance for continued improvement.
Develop & oversee execution of product communication strategies and lead generation content via email, advertising, web content, and social posts.
Oversee the development of product collateral, direct mail campaigns, promotional and collateral materials for the events, signage, etc.
Work with KB & AAC to develop campaign strategies that align with attendee goals, increase new audience database and convert leads to registrations.
Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge: BA/BS degree required. 5+ years of demonstrated experience in progressive roles in management of direct marketing strategy and implementation. Excellent communicator, motivator, and administrator.
Skills: Strong copywriting and editing skills; Strong project management, planning and organizational skills and attention to detail. Efficiency in WordPress, Marketo, Google Analytics, Canva/Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Abilities: Effectively manage the marketing process; communicate effectively with the team – listening to ideas, communicating strategy, adjusting when needed; executing marketing activities.

Work Environment


This position offers the flexibility to work remotely and enjoy a hybrid schedule, working in the office 2 days per week. While this position reports into our office located in Portland, Maine, we are open to considering fully remote applicants.
