Job Summary

Creates, plans, and implements the necessary strategies to successfully convert prospective students to enrolled by actively working them through the program selection process and application funnel. Collaborates and communicates effectively with leadership teams across various programs, demonstrates innovative recruitment tactics, and engages with students in various scenarios. Recruitment efforts include conducting tabling events, distributing materials, presenting live information sessions, and exploring partnership opportunities with programs. Communicating with programs and students via phone, email, Zoom, and in-person is required. This role collaborates closely with program staff to coordinate conversion efforts.

Successful candidates will demonstrate comfort with public speaking, thrive in a constantly changing higher education environment, and demonstrate professional and courteous communication skills.

Responsibilities

Communicates with prospective students via email, phone, Zoom and occasionally in-person.

Participates in recruitment events both on and off campus, such as tabling events, public speaking engagements, information sessions, and other related activities.

Develops and implements strategies to convert prospective students to enrolled status, including guiding them through the program selection process, application requirements, and addressing program-related inquiries.

Advocates for students interested in returning to the University by providing a seamless transition through the readmission process and navigating available campus resources.

Effectively communicates University and program information to students, staying informed about updates and changes.

Successfully manages a database of leads.

Communicates and maintains relationships with program faculty and staff to ensure consistent flow of information and efforts to enroll new students.

Ensures submission of completed and qualified applications for UOnline programs to reach program enrollment goals.

Responds to questions, inquiries and concerns of prospective online students.

Records prospective student data and contact history in CRM .

Prepares and maintain reports related to recruitment methods to analyze trends.

Coordinates and assist in creating internal and external communications to prospective and admitted students.

Contributes to marketing efforts by participating in social media campaigns, public relations opportunities, and promotional events.

Effectively utilizes standard office software applications to prepare correspondence, presentations, and reports related to recruitment.

Develops a working knowledge of University of Utah resources, departments, and contacts to appropriately refer students to university resources.

Performs various other relevant duties as assigned by MarComm leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).

Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills

Preferences

Previous experience working with all-online students and/or graduate students

Previous experience working in higher education, sales, admissions, marketing or communications

Problem Solving

The incumbent has the authority to edit and compose both initial outbound communications and draft responses to student inquiries. The incumbent will also have the ability to retrieve data, analyze and formulate reports.

Representative challenges faced by the incumbent include working with various areas to coordinate communications efforts. The incumbent will produce professional and accurate communications which exhibit a professional and courteous style.
