Our Commercial team is currently seeking a Marketing Manager, Foodservice with proven experience in the following: foodservice marketing, portfolio management, project management, innovation, and financial acumen. You will have the ability to directly drive business and expand our food portfolio with our field sales and corporate accounts customers for branded and co-branded foods. This is a position with high visibility within the company and you will work very closely with R&D, Supply Chain, Sales, Customers, Finance, and Marketing to develop and execute strategic initiatives. This is a very team-oriented and collaborative environment, but you will make recommendations on your business.

What You Can Expect

With your extraordinary leadership, project management, and analytical skills, you will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Planning. Lead development of annual and 3-year marketing plans for the Field Sales team by working collaboratively with team members from sales, product development, and sales operations to achieve business goals. Understand customer set, target customer, competitive set, portfolio value propositions, menu opportunities, and customer strategic objectives. Represent Marketing with customers in strategic presentations and planning sessions.
  • Initiative Planning and Development. Work collaboratively with sales leads to develop period initiatives and identify promotional tactics consistent with the business strategies. Execute sales support and work with Sales Ops to align on analysis/reporting of campaign results.
  • Sales Enablement: Assist sales in customer presentations (both building and delivering). Identify and lead development of effective sales tools and training to accomplish and support the annual plan.
  • Channel Ownership. Develop compelling selling proposition and articulation of what sales needs to win. Support the development of training, tools, and materials for both internal and external use. Work with sales and demand planning to ensure accurate forecasts for the most efficient production and to meet customer demands. In conjunction with Sales Ops, develop segment-specific initiatives to drive volume in key segments by category.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration. Collaborate and maintain close relationships with internal customers and teams including field sales, sales ops, R&D, finance, and supply chain to accomplish objectives.
  • Sales Alignment. Work closely with the BAF Direct Sales team to ensure support of Pipeline Opportunities to maximize profit with volume. Engage Agency peers to strengthen synergies between go-to-market presence, sales execution and playbook support, key segment needs, and culinary.
Do You Have the Ingredients to Become a Basic American Foods Hero?
We're Looking for Someone With:
  • 5-7 years of related professional experience in Foodservice marketing and a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and strong cross-functional collaboration ability.
  • Solid foodservice industry knowledge, including distribution, trade spend, brokerage, agency partners, etc. required.
  • Demonstrated product and/or project management track record.
  • Passion for our mission to help create mealtime victories with our food, brand, and customer experience.
  • Ability to work and lead autonomously and apply strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Strong presentation skills required, with customer interaction experience preferred.
  • Proficient skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Additional Traits That Set You Apart:
  • New food development experience preferred.

Competitive Compensation: The expected pay range for this role is between $115,000-$125,000. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position participates in an annual incentive plan.
