OverviewThe Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation’s (ETAF) LIFEBEAT / Marketing and Operations Manager will report to ETAF’s External Affairs Director and will be accountable for the following responsibilities. The position is an at-will, exempt position and will be an active member of the ETAF staff team.As with all positions at ETAF, this role will lead with kindness and a spirit of collaboration with staff and all constituents, reinforcing ETAF’s core value of People First. ETAF’s work is intentional with both individual and team goals.LIFEBEAT mobilizes the music and entertainment industry to provide the resources and support needed for at-risk youth to take care of their sexual health and prevent HIV. On the ground at music tours, special events, festivals, and within broadcast, digital, social, and print campaigns, LIFEBEAT engages at-risk youth about safe sex, HIV prevention, and the services that support them regardless of status, gender, or sexuality.This position is based in Los Angeles, CA, and has a hybrid work schedule.Roles and ResponsibilitiesProgram ManagementWorking in collaboration with the External Affairs Director, responsible for the planning and coordination of musical artist tour participation, music festival participation, and integrated AIDS service organizations (ASO). Responsibilities include but not limited to:In collaboration with the External Affairs Director, manage the ETAF LIFEBEAT Advisory Board.Work with ETAF LIFEBEAT advisory board members and music industry leaders to secure musical artist engagement and event sponsors.In collaboration with other ETAF program managers, identify and engage Community Partners (ASOs) in designated tour and music festival locations.Creating event timelines and ASO activities.Production and oversight of event collateral materials.Manage music venue participation, vendor relationships, and CommunityPartner (ASO) relationships.Develop the annual LIFEBEAT program’s communications strategy.Accountable for social media development, deployment, engagement, andevaluation.Works on public and media relations as assigned.Fundraising Marketing CommunicationsIn collaboration with the External Affairs Director, creates revenue plan, implements fundraising strategy, and tracks and forecasts the program’s budget.Identification of potential sponsors and creation of sponsorship solicitation materials.As an active member of the ETAF team, assists in solicitation of sponsorships for both monetary and in-kind support.Manages ETAF LIFEBEAT event marketing and outreach.MiscellaneousAs an active member of the team, is responsible for administrative tasks as assigned.As an active member of the team, helps to develop and implement the annual fundraising plan.Represents ETAF at meetings, events, and conferences for support and learning as assigned.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:Familiarity with current music trends and artists, an understanding of the music business, and various platforms for distribution are a plus.The ability to implement the LIFEBEAT program among varied music genres, artists and audiences.An interest in the prevention of HIV, sexual health, and well-being of America’s youth.3 – 5 years experience in the entertainment industry and/or the areas of event production, fundraising, and communications.Good written and verbal communication skills.Self-starter with an ability to work both independently and as a key member of the ETAFteam.Relationship builder with excellent interpersonal skills.Strong administrative skills, including the ability to manage many projects simultaneously,set priorities, and implement events.Proficient in MS Office.Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.Compensation: Salary $73,000 experience dependent, benefits included.Familiarity with current music trends and artists, an understanding of the music business and various platforms for distribution.A basic understanding of the mechanics and operations of major tours, special events and festivals.
