Position Highlights
The Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement position serves as the marketing director and game director for all assigned sports. This includes comprehensive marketing, social media, advertising and promotional planning, working with coaches, sports information, creative services, event management and tickets sales/operations. Includes oversite of interns and student volunteers for gameday and marketing plan execution. This position reports to the Assistant AD of Marketing.

This position requires the ability work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel for competition and recruiting.

Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and implement marketing, branding and promotional plans for assigned sports to increase attendance, awareness, and revenue.
Prepare and execute detailed game scripts to direct music, video content, public address announcements, spirit squads and other resources to deliver a high-quality fan experience for assigned sports.
Manage gameday staff such as interns, public address announcers, music personnel and spirit squads.
Coordinate Marketing Internship program by recruiting interns, scheduling interns to events, and help develop students into the next leaders of the industry.
Think creatively to find unique ways to enhance fan experience and the Arizona Athletics brand.
Cultivate relationships with campus partners to identify mutually beneficial programming for Arizona students around home athletic events.
Collaborate with assigned sports and other external units of the athletic department to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms.
Plan and assist with community outreach and grassroots marketing programs to create excitement for Arizona athletics.
Update select content on to deliver timely and relevant information to fans, ticketholders, donors and students.
Coordinate advertising and social media strategies to engage fans and to build the Arizona Athletics brand in Tucson, the Big 12 and beyond.
Hold a position and contribute on different committees throughout the department.
Manage select marketing and fan engagement programs such as kid’s club and memorabilia requests.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, including both verbal and written.

Ability to have a professional image and demeanor.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Knowledge of NCAA and Big 12 rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related/relevant field of study and at least one year of experience from which comparable.
Three years of experience
The ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Marketing, Sport Administration or a related field
Two years of experience in collegiate or professional sports marketing. Experience can include internships and graduate assistant level.
