Overview:

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) has an exciting opening on the Journals Marketing team, for a marketing professional who specializes in digital marketing. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the success of the Publications Division by promoting our prestigious scientific journals. AACR journals are respected for publishing groundbreaking discoveries across the spectrum of basic, translational, clinical, and epidemiologic cancer research.

The Digital Marketing Manager will report to the Associate Director, Journals Marketing, and will work from the AACR office in Philadelphia. The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of digital marketing campaigns to build awareness, drive submissions, and drive usage through email and social media campaigns. The Manager will report on campaign results and make relevant recommendations for improvements and future campaigns. An independent, self-starter, this individual will have the opportunity to interface with stakeholders and collaborators inside and outside of the Publications Division to achieve the objectives of the marketing plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of email marketing campaigns as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud power user.
  • In collaboration with other Journals Marketing team members, develop email journeys, and execute using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Coordinate email and social media content.
  • Administer the production of social media, email and web graphics.
  • Implement social listening for all journal-related social media platforms and offer constructive interaction with audiences.
  • Recommend and assist in the development of new content appropriate for social media.
  • Coordinate website content updates on both the AACR journals and organizations websites.
  • Report monthly on digital marketing metrics, recommend improvements, and provide future campaign direction.
  • Develop and submit yearly report on social media trends to the Associate Director, Journals Marketing, and Director, Journal Sales & Marketing.
  • Develop knowledge and expertise in STM Journal marketing.
  • Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree in marketing or related field
  • 2-4 years proven work experience in marketing
  • Demonstrable experience developing and implementing digital marketing campaigns
  • Experience with email marketing tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices
  • Strong understanding of email and social media metrics
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external groups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and to meet deadlines
