Senior Marketing Manager

Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Senior Marketing Manager will be to strategically partner with all internal AACR departments, collaboratively develop comprehensive marketing plans, compose motivational marketing content, and compile and report detailed outcome metrics of all marketing campaigns.

Tactical overview of activities include:
Strategic Marketing Plan development and execution
Marketing content creation
Management of advertising activities in a variety of media platforms including digital, print, TV, and radio
Participation at AACR meetings and AACR exhibiting activities

Responsibilities:

Strategically partner with all AACR departments on developing comprehensive marketing plans with clear goals, objectives, and tactics.
Collaborate and compose original marketing content, along with schedules for email, direct mail, TV, radio, and web campaigns, using best marketing practices and adhering to the current AACR brand guidelines.
Coordinate with colleagues throughout the organization to ensure that compelling and motivational messaging is delivered with the highest quality and in alignment with the AACRs mission.
Provide marketing support for Special Conferences, Annual Meetings, and AACR partnering organizations meetings, including exhibits at several meetings per year (AACR and non-AACR).
Develop, monitor, and report on all campaign metrics utilizing Salesforce (ECRM), Marketing Cloud (Email), and Google Analytics (Metrics).
Develop and maintain working relationships with media partners and negotiate advertisement rates, placements, and schedules.
Manage all activities within the approved departmental budget.
Interface with management, M&CS designers, and vendors regarding AACR marketing plans, schedules, and ad placements.
Provide first-level review in a multi-step review process for all marketing materials, including eblasts, brochures, postcards, and flyers.
Keep informed of programs, campaigns, and promotions throughout the organization to share with members and prospective members at AACR and non-AACR meetings and events.
Travel to 5-7 meetings per year, both domestically and international, to set up, tear down, and staff exhibit booths.
Assist Director of Marketing with other marketing tasks as required.

Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree with a concentration in Marketing, Advanced degree a plus
7+ years of marketing experience in the Life Sciences
3+ years of marketing strategy development
Strong marketing copywriting skills
Strong campaign metrics experience
Scientific exhibitions and/or trade shows experience
Collaborative, customer service attitude
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
Non-profit experience a plus
Proficiency with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud platforms
Proficiency with Computer Software Applications, including MS Word, Excel, and MS Access
