The American Academy of Dermatology is seeking a Marketing Manager located in our Rosemont office responsible for developing integrated marketing communications strategies for assigned programs that deliver and maintain the brand promise to targeted customer segments, aligns with strategic initiatives for growth, and achieves membership, marketing and financial objectives. Support and guide the execution of lead nurturing digital marketing campaigns through marketing automation. Track, measure and analyze effectiveness of marketing strategies, develop recommendations, and modify plans accordingly.

Develop and execute strategic marketing communications plans that show value, attract new members, help retain current members, promotes the value of membership through the use of member benefits and fosters member engagement both domestically and internationally. Build an understanding of members (and prospects) through various research methods using internal and external data. Develop appropriate plans that are consistent of a multi-channel distribution strategy by looking at category trends and segments to meet financial objectives. Build and measure key metrics around the business including customer/member acquisition, customer/member satisfaction, and revenue attribution. Manage creation, execution, and track and report on campaigns effectiveness. Identify any gaps, challenges, and roadblocks; recommend solutions in order to execute and deliver projects on time. Proactively engage integrated communications division on value of membership. Marketing communications strategies should deliver on the brand promise to targeted customer segments, align with strategic initiatives for growth, and achieve membership, marketing and financial objectives.Utilize data to define target markets, build demand generation, provide lead creation and conversion. Build an understanding of members (and prospects) through various internal and/or external research methods. Work cross-departmentally to identify data gaps and monitor trends through market/association benchmarking and environment scans to assist in providing recommendations. Build and analyze membership data to develop insights and pinpoint opportunities. Work with operations team to improve data hygiene/data integrity for optimal campaign performance.Develop and execute strategic marketing communications plans that contribute to strategic and financial objectives and increase participation and awareness of valued member programs including publications (print and digital), Clinical Communities and other programs as assigned. Build an understanding of target audiences through various research methods using internal and external data. Determine appropriate multi-channel distribution strategies and work across IC division to ensure consistent messaging across all available channels. Manage creation, execution, and track and report on campaigns effectiveness. Identify any gaps, challenges, and roadblocks; recommend solutions in order to execute and deliver projects on time.Provide strategic direction to operations specialist on the use and maintenance of marketing automation software and connection to/from our shopping cart. Help resolving high level or complex issues as needed and causes of bugs in order to correct the processes. Monitor, analyze, test and refine strategies for email marketing and customer engagement when needed. Implement best practices for utilization of marketing automation tool, lead scoring, lead nurturing, data quality, and workflows as they contribute to the understanding of customer intelligence, insights, and engagement. Utilize platforms full capacity (i.e. developing landing’s, pages, social campaigns, drip campaigns, lead nurturing and lead scoring models and track KPI's from end-to-end campaigns).Develop annual budgets for assigned categories by analyzing revenue and ad & promo ROI. Create comparative analysis by using historical revenue numbers as well as consumer trends. Determine ad & promo budgets using historical ROI and taking into consideration business objectives. Monitor monthly membership recruitment and retention numbers and reports.Manage the logistics and implementation of the Academy meetings and various outside medical meetings (live, international, virtual, and hybrid) to include virtual booth builds, shipping, product demonstrations, onsite and online sales, staffing, and booth set-up/tear-down. Promote consistent image and representation of AAD through point of purchase displays and collateral material at those meetings. Analyze tradeshow sales and request inventory for onsite sales. Attend member events as an Academy representative and learn about the needs of current and prospective members to assist with implementing new products and activities and/or revising existing products.Develop innovative, integrated marketing communications plans that contribute to financial objectives and increase participation and awareness of the organization’s affinity preferred provider programs. Marketing plans should be integrated and consist of both AAD and provider marketing tactics. Work with Advertising team to approve and monitor partner marketing to ensure AAD standards, brand guidelines, and contractual obligations have been met and that advertising is consistent and aligned with marketing plan. Execute marketing plans accordingly, track success, and report findings during affinity review meetings. Work with cross-department business teams on annual review of affinity programs, participate in monthly/quarterly meetings.Work with the Academy’s Member Resource Center (MRC) to include updating representatives on marketing communication campaigns, answering higher-level member questions, coordinating the flow of information to and from the MRC representatives, and developing resource material for the MRC’s day-to-day use.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications, Marketing, or equivalent experience.Six plus years of marketing communications experience in campaign planning, event marketing, brand strategy, and promotional copywriting.Excellent writing skills, specifically marketing copy for print and electronic media (i.e., function to value proposition).Familiarity with best practices for electronic media.Effective verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills required.Strong interpersonal skills including considering and responding appropriately to the needs and feelings of others and treating others equitably.Strong attention to detail skills required. Identify and define problems, examine relevant information and choose the correct course of action.Negotiation skills necessary.Ability to collect and analyze information used to make sound business process and procedure decisions.Ability to organize, prioritize, monitor and coordinate tasks to execute projects under minimal supervision and adhere to deadlines.Ability to lead and participate in cross-departmental work groups to achieve broad Academy objectives.Ability to handle and multi-task a variety of assignments.Ability to work well under deadline pressure.Demonstrates awareness of business functions and how business decisions affect financial and non-financial work results.Uses creativity and imagination to develop new insights into situations and apply new solutions to problems. Come up with new and unique ideas.Proficiency in MS Office.Some travel required.
