The Marketing team plays an important role in furthering the Academy’s mission by developing and promoting products, services, and events that support ophthalmologists, practice administrators, clinical teams, and patients at every level.

We’re looking for a well-rounded Marketing Communications Specialist to partner with the Product Marketing Manager in all aspects of planning and execution of marketing strategies for a portfolio of Academy products, services, and other initiatives as assigned. You’ll also be responsible for developing and executing the tactical marketing communications plans and managing an expense budget.

The ideal candidate has exceptional copywriting skills and working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite; demonstrable project management, business, and budgeting experience; and the ability to render and report out clear, actionable data from multiple sources (website, email, ecommerce, Google Analytics, business intelligence software).

You will:

Support the Product Marketing Manager in achieving revenue goals and raising awareness of Academy programs and servicesCreate and maintain a tactical plan that supports the strategic and revenue goals of product teamsDevelop, schedule, and execute all promotional campaigns: content marketing, email, direct mail, advertising, video, and social mediaProvide copywriting, photo editing, and art direction for promotionsOversee design, approval, and production of promotions with internal staff and external vendorsManage promotional expense budget and recommend cost-saving measuresAnalyze results of promotions and apply findings to subsequent promotionsAssist in research, sales, distribution, event management, and other promotional activitiesServe as lead marketing contact and execute special projects as assignedYou have:

5 years of professional marketing experienceExperience in project management and managing/developing budgetsSuperior copywriting, editing, proofreading, and art direction skillsExperience developing integrated, omnichannel marketing campaigns that include advertising, direct mail, email, social media, and videoAbility to evaluate and critique creative concepts, providing clear feedback to creative teamPrior experience in business analysis and reporting skills with an aptitude for budgeting, estimating, and cost-accountingStrong understanding of market research principles and practicesAbility to analyze data and generate clear recommendationsProven ability to perform duties independently, making decisions about project prioritization by analyzing urgency and importance of competing projectsStrong computer skills in MS (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) project management software (Monday, Asana), and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Adobe Express)Experience with digital business tools like Salesforce, PowerBI, ecommerce (Magento a plus), email (Higher Logic, Mailchimp), and social media platformsBachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or equivalent experience in related field
