THE OPPORTUNITY: Senior Manager, Product Design

REPORTS TO: Chief Technology Officer

LOCATION: US #remote

Birdy Grey is looking for a Senior Manager, Product Design . This is a player/coach role where ~70% of your time will be spent executing and ~30% of your time will be spent managing workflows and collaborating with your team. You will be responsible for the Digital Product Design function –, creating end-to-end user experiences, organizing user research, scaling our product design system, and delivering high fidelity visual user flows and experiences.

Scope Of Responsibilities

Collaborate with product management, engineering, creative, brand, marketing, and business stakeholders to shape the birdygrey.com product design vision and strategyManage the end-to-end design process from discovery to concept ideation to user flows, wireframes, components, detailed visual mockups, and prototypesTest prototypes with users, present to stakeholders for buy-in and alignmentResponsibly and effectively advocate for the user; fostering a shared understanding of the intersection between design, technology and business.Present to executive-level leadership and support your design rationale using quantitative data and site metrics, user feedback, and usability findingsIdentify and execute unmet research opportunities that can add insights and valueManage and mentor a team of Product Designers

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE: QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Experience / Requirements

8+ years professional experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or Interaction designer, preferably in the DTC e-commerce industry.1+ years experience mentoring and managing a team of Product and/or UX DesignersPortfolio of work demonstrating ability to create seamless user experiences across a range of industries with emphasis in UI and interaction design.Expert proficiency with FigmaExperience working directly with engineers to bring new designs to life; strong understanding of responsive design and WCAG accessibility guidelines for desktop and mobile webExperiencing creating and scaling component based digital product design systemsExperience organizing and running a UX Research PracticeExcellent communication, ability to work in ambiguous environment, prioritizing and managing multiple milestones and projects efficientlyExperience running design working /review sessions
