is seeking an experienced, highly organised, and motivated arts professional to be responsible for the effective management and creative content of the project.The Chief Executive Officer will work closely with the Board of Trustees and a wide variety of stakeholders to deliver and develop the work including funders, arts and education projects, local communities and youth projects, higher and further education partners and statutory providersThe ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts and belief in the power of creative participation to influence social change. They will be a collaborative and flexible team member with excellent interpersonal skills and a self-motivated attitude.Candidates will need a professional manner and excellent attention to detail, with strong administrative, management and networking and skills and a clear record of achievement in arts management.Community Music

was the first organisation of its type in the UK. It started in 1983 and for 40 years has pioneered innovative developments in alternative music provision, many of which are replicated in arts projects and education providers across the country.It is based in Tower Hamlets and has a training centre comprising production and training studios, rehearsal rooms and IT suites.Outreach projects are run in partnership with local providers and specific communities of need both locally and in other London boroughs. These create progression routes to professional and accredited training at the centre.The community projects include Create 2020, a crime prevention project in Haringey; Mind the Music, a mental health project working with social prescribing networks in the East End of London; and ReCharge, a free music resource and workshops for young people. The professional training includes music leader courses, online and physical, accredited by City and Guilds, and a 2-year Foundation Degree in partnership with the University of Westminster.Summary of terms

Contract:

Full-time; permanent.

Employees at CM are eligible for enrolment in the company pension schemeHours of work:

37.5 hours per week; however, it may be necessary to work beyond the contracted hours to fulfil the requirements of the role. Evening and weekend work is sometimes required.Holiday:

25 days per annum, plus statutory Bank Holidays.Relocation:
