Summary

The Graphic Designer will create relevant and engaging content in a style and tone that conveys the Taylor University brand. As a member of the Marketing team, the chosen associate must be comfortable working alongside writers, SEO-specialists, photographers/videographers, marketing strategists, and project managers. The ideal candidate is a team player who is intelligent, collaborative, and passionate about beautiful design and trends in technology.

This position is primarily responsible to:Testify to personal experience of salvation in Jesus Christ, affirm belief in the University's Statement of Faith, abide by and practice our Life Together Covenant, and both personally agree with and support the Foundational Documents of Taylor University.Ensure maximum efficiency for taylor.edu in generating and nurturing prospective students.Create assets for use online in digital advertising, social feeds, stories, highlights, and email campaigns that support overall recruitment goals, objectives and maintain Taylor University brand standards.Create assets for use in printed materials such as postcards, banners, brochures, cards, stickers, t-shirts, etc.Design web pages, print materials, and signage for events and campus branding.Edit photos and other assets to create engaging content.Work on multiple projects at the same time across various marketing channels.Stay current with new and emerging design trends to provide the Marketing team with suggestions and insights to keep our marketing presence relevant and eye-catching.Help plan and implement creative testing and apply insights to designs.Help set and meet project timelines/deadlines to deliver a wide variety of projects on time.Perform other job related functions as assigned.Other duties as assigned.Typical Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in fine arts, graphic design or related field of study.Strong portfolio that includes both print and digital design.Must understand the capabilities and best practices of working across desktop and mobile environments.Experience creating print-ready files with close collaboration with a printer.Experience collaborating within a team.1 - 3 years of experience performing similar responsibilities preferred.Experience designing for both print and digital preferred.Skills and Competencies

Knowledge of graphic design principles and practices, including layout, typography, visual hierarchy, and use of tone and color.Extremely proficient in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).Ability to self-manage during projects and proactively raise issues/concerns to the team.Able to receive creative direction and accept feedback, while being able to work independently and being self-motivated.Confident, friendly, motivated and driven.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an affinity for problem-solving.Ability to understand unknown subject matters and communicate it distinctively and thoroughly, and a willingness to learn new processes.Supplemental Information

Physical Demands

Moderate physical activity. May occasionally require handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Work Environment

Work is normally performed in a typical interior / office work environment.Requires as-needed attendance at evening and/or weekend activities.

Environmental Conditions

May involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures.
