Description

The Computer and Media Services Technician is responsible for providing direct technical and instructional support to students, faculty, and staff at WSCC, including campus-wide audio-visual, coordinated computer lab support, and computer desktop and peripheral support. This position coordinates the evening coverage of the Computer Labs/Help Desk as needed. The Computer and Media Services Technician reports directly to the Media Services and Learning Technical Coordinator, and will accomplish job duties by working collaboratively with members of the Department of Information Technology and other employees across all areas of Campus, and by demonstrating WSCC Core Values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Assist with the management of the Help Desk including electronic ticketing response, training materials, procedures, and a FAQ database for use by the Information Technology Department, Student Helpdesk Technicians, Faculty, and Staff.Provide hardware, software, and audio-visual support to students, faculty, and community usersMaintain security of computer laboratories, equipment, and software.Work with other members of the Department of Information Technology to address Help Desk tickets.Schedule and set up AV services, public address systems, and other media systems across Campus and off-site locations, coordinating with the Media Services and Learning Technical Coordinator and Director of Performing Arts, as required.Manage AV equipment, coordinate repair and preventive maintenance, and establish maintenance schedules for AV equipment in conjunction with the Media Services and Learning Technical Coordinator.Configure, deploy, and maintain desktop images, applications, and virtual delivery methodologies across Campus.Configure and maintain WSCC's enterprise workstation configuration management system.Specify, configure, and maintain computer desktop hardware in both the Windows and Mac environments across Campus.Manage desktop, peripheral, and AV hardware inventory, troubleshoot, repair, and assist with warranty management and replacement cycles.Assist with printer maintenance and replacement in educational labs.Troubleshoot user login and profile issues through basic Active Director management.Organize domain-joined computers.Assist students and staff with Multi-Factor Authentication.Manage WSCC computer assets through a physical inventory list.Provide Office 365 & Microsoft Teams support.Manage WSCC computer assets by maintaining a physical inventory and working with the supervisor on computer life-cycle management.Provide cross-trained coverage for other areas within I.T., as deemed appropriate by skills and need.Serve on campus teams and/or committees and attend meetings as needed.ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate Degree in computer science, computer networking, or related field. An equivalent combination of experience and education/training may be considered.Must have job-related experience (preferably 2 years).To be a best fit for this position, you will:

CompensationSalary starting at, or above $44,701, commensurate with skills/experience
