The primary focus of the Instructional Media Specialist is to assist in the daily operations of Instructional Media Center (audio visual services area) and participates in the operation of Instructional Media support across all BCTC campuses. It also provides for the advancement of classroom instruction through the effective implementation of the most current audio-visual technology. Two positions available. One position will be located on Newtown campus and other on our Leestown campus. Both positions will report to Instructional Media Manager.

Job Duties:

Monitors and maintains audio/visual equipment and control systems.Provide technical support for BCTC meetings and eventsAssists in the development of instructional media materials and supports college-wide equipment and audiovisual services for faculty, staff, and students.Assists with design, layout, and computer graphics for instruction.Schedules and assigns media equipment.Provides appropriate instructional materials for classroom including computer presentations.Trains and instructs faculty, staff, and students in the proper use of media and computer equipment and software.Assists in the research and recommendation of media and computer equipment for purchase.Assists with the maintenance of equipment inventory.Supervises student workers.Maintains current knowledge of innovative trends in instructional media and computing through professional articles, seminars, workshops, etc.Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (related field) or equivalent experience and two years' experience.Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (related field) or equivalent experience and four years' experience.Additional Skills Requested:

Demonstrate strong management abilities, including critical thinking, innovative problem solving, time management, and organizational skills.Excellent interpersonal communication skillsAn in-depth knowledge of audio/video system as well as a background in audio/video production and graphic design is essentialBasic understanding of Microsoft officeA valid driver's license.
