Position Overview:
Purpose of Position
The Senior Email Marketing Manager will create a process and calendar for the development and execution of email marketing campaigns and opportunities in order to drive sales, build our customer base, and support top line growth initiatives. This role works with cross-functional teams including Marketing Strategy, Merchandising, and Creative to manage Johnny Was email marketing, SMS, and customer communication strategy. The Senior Manager is expected to be knowledgeable on all product initiatives, key events, company milestones, and seasonal calendar.
Essential Job Functions
Develop tools to communicate, create and manage the Company's email marketing, SMS, and lifecycle strategy.Lead creation and execution of email marketing/SMS campaigns to ensure we are speaking to our customers in an authentic and targeted style.Own the creation and management of the email calendar coordinated with company marketing and development calendars.Manage the briefing and creative process for email marketing/SMS campaigns. Ensure email marketing initiatives are consistent with site, merchandising, and omni-channel marketing strategies.Optimize and expand on automated customer journeys to increase revenue and lifetime value.Further the understanding of our customer psychographic and demographic profile through data partnerships, surveys, and other feedback mechanisms.Identify special touch points that nurture our highest value customers.Analyze email marketing campaigns and make recommendations for improvement.Create a comprehensive segmentation and testing plan for all campaigns. Analyze the business pre-and post-campaign(s) in order to capture and report on observations and recommendations.Manage partnership with email vendor, and work with CDP partner to activate core customer segments.Compile, track, and analyze KPIs to help identify and implement ongoing tests and new tactics in an effort to continually drive improved results.Maintain expert knowledge of email marketing, SMS, and lifecycle marketing trends, best practices and technologies.Perform additional duties and projects as required.Education and Certifications, Experience and Skills, and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or BusinessKnowledge and experience with email service (Listrak experience a plus)6+ years' experience with ecommerce and email/SMS marketing.6+ years' experience analyzing marketing data in an ecommerce purchasing environment.6+ years' creating marketing campaigns to drive traffic, increase guest time on site and ultimately sales.Expert understanding of and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to build strong partnerships with team members and 3rd party vendors to optimize email marketing.Highly adaptive individual with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.Excellent business/marketing acumen with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to provide clear and consistent communication with team members and business partners.Expert communication skills, written and oral.
