The Sales and Marketing Director is an integral member of the Club’s leadership team and is responsible for maximizing group rounds, green fee revenue, catering and event revenues by creating and implementing the promotion and sales plans of the club’s facilities for tournaments, weddings, banquets, business meetings, social events, golf outings and resident related activities at the Club. In addition, the Sales and Marketing Director is responsible for overseeing all Club communications, marketing, advertising, reporting results, managing strategic partnerships and ensuring the Indian Wells Golf Resort brand is marketed on a local, regional, national and international level. This position will report directly to the property’s General Manager.

$115,000 - $130,000 BOE

Qualifications, Experience and Skill Requirements:

Rigorous sales experience (3-5 years minimum) in a destination market focused on tournament, catering and event sales, preferably in a club setting, and a proven track record of selling golf outings, corporate meetings, social events, such as weddings, social celebrations and banquets.Well versed in marketing disciplines, such as media, social, print and digital.Considerable direct experience in authoring and activating a revenue management program to drive green fee and catering rates, while maximizing profit for each segmentSuperior sales skills in prospecting, follow-up and closing.Present a professional appearance with a pleasant and mature demeanor.Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills using contemporary software like Canva and/or Power PointMust be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented.Must have excellent interpersonal/relationship skills.Must be comfortable in the use of CRM/sales automation systems and reporting.Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookKnowledge of the Indian Wells / Palm Springs markets is preferred.A four-year college degree preferred, but not requiredPosition Responsibilities :

Achieve sales/rates/profit goals of the Club’s tournaments/golf outings and catering/events segmentsAuthor and publish group golf and catering sales, advertising budgets.Develop, implement and provide periodic updates to the Club’s annual sales and marketing plan.Develop and implement programs and activities that increase and retain events in the Club, including, but not limited to, SEO, SEM, social media, radio, television, telephone sales campaigns, direct marketing campaigns, networking events, open house events, and the like.Utilize CRM daily to build and maintain an events prospect database, track all communications and activities with those prospects, and record all sales made.Respond to prospect inquiries, conduct tours and meetings for prospective events, and sell events.Oversee the development/preparation of contracts for events.Work with the Club’s General Manager to determine selling prices and menus for tournaments, golf outings and catered events.Schedule banquet and golf event functions, prices and prepares event proposals, collects signed contracts and deposits.Transmit the necessary information about all events to the appropriate support staff.Ensure smooth execution of events by collaborating with appropriate department heads.Regularly evaluate services and determine means by which to upgrade quality of catered and group golf events.Meet with city council members to present sales and marketing plans and review results.Attend important events to foster relationships that are important to generate event referrals and other club business opportunities.Participates in outside activities that are judged appropriate by the General Manager and/or Troon regional team to enhance the presence of the property in the local community.Participate in Troon monthly sales calls and/or meetings and the annual Troon sales meeting.Work with club partners including Troon Corporate Director Sales and Marketing, campus hotels DOSMs, plus marketing and PR firms to drive awareness and new business to the club.Oversee all club communication channels and content including social media, website, app, email campaigns and paid advertising.Work with the Club’s GM and Troon regional team to create sales materials/collaterals.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Club’s General Manager.
