Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications of the College of Public Health, the Associate Director of Creative Marketing & Communications plays a central role in the success of the college. The Associate Director leads creative efforts to advance the public identity and reputation of the college, market the college’s academic programs in order to drive enrollment and generate interest/engagement in a wide range of college initiatives, including fundraising efforts, events and strategic partnerships. The Associate Director collaborates with CPH leadership to develop creative messaging and communications and marketing plans. Critical audiences include prospective students and faculty, donors, alumni, university leadership, peer institutions, the media, the North Philadelphia community and the general public.

The Associate Director leads a creative team to develop a strategic vision for the future of CPH. The incumbent should have the ability to creatively shape the reputation of a large, complex, and quickly growing institution. Oversee the collaboration of internal and external communications as well as marketing communications. Must be able to manage many competing priorities such as media outreach, yearly magazine publication, and other projects. Must be able to build productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent should have fluency in editorial, marketing, and academic/research communications, as well as earned media/media relations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential functions: Lead and review the work of the creative teams for all web, print, and digital marketing collateral; Spearhead and manage content strategy for both small and large projects, harnessing brand design, copy, art, and digital technology; Be the point person for the yearly Temple University, College of Public Health magazine, together for health; Thrive in a collaborative environment working directly with each department within CPH to determine the best creative strategy to promote the programs being offered as well as research work; Communicates with search and digital marketing agencies to ensure the message aligns with CPH mission; Take an active role in finalizing the CPH 5- year strategic plan; Works well with tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects, the assistant creative director must be skilled at overseeing a creative team; Ensure that all of the college's creative output/visuals are consistent with the overall brand; Lead multiple projects from conception to completion in accordance with deadlines; Collaborate with admissions/recruiting in developing marketing plans, analyzing results, and identifying opportunities; Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree and five or more years’ experience in a creative role overseeing graphic design, typography, visual communication or equivalent experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:*Ability to “think outside the box”*Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.*Prioritize work and resources across engagements, based on short- and long-term needs, and develop schedules by collaborating with designers, copywriters, and production artists*Review and approve art and copy developed by the team, ensuring that deliverables address marketing goals and challenges effectively*Produce fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling print materials and digital experiences for sophisticated audiences*Oversee the presentation of final concepts, and obtain approvals for deliverables

This position is temporarily assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
