Billions of dollars in commerce run through the Upside platform every year, and that value goes directly back to our retailer partners, the consumers they serve, and important sustainability initiatives.The Impact You'll Make:You'll report into our Head of People & Workplace, collaborate with executives, and manage internal communication strategy and delivery. You will develop and implement company-wide strategies to support organizational goals, deliver run-the-business communications and guide and inspire the company with proactive and reactive strategies with messaging that lands in a human and empathetic way. More specifically, you'll:Advise our executives on communication strategies, positioning, and messagingWrite impactful content that aligns with Upside values and lands empatheticallyIdentify current communication needs and create plans to solve for our gapsEvolve our communications model to better scale with our growing businessAnalyze communication efforts, gather insights, and suggest improvementsStay updated on trends, emerging technologies, and best practicesSupport planning and the execution of company onsite eventsWhat You Should Have:Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or equivalent experience8+ years of experience working in venture-backed, fast-paced scaling companies, preferably in techExperience influencing and informing C-Suite executives.Experience with building cross-functional relationships across all departments and levels of an organization.Experience working in a highly matrixed organization with shifting priorities and ambiguity.Experience managing multiple strategic priorities simultaneously and independently.Experience developing strategic communications plans and implementing them across crisis management, change management, and internal communications.Strategic and creative thinking, with the skills to distill complex content into clear, concise, and engaging communications, and able to write with speed and accuracy.Strong storyteller with the ability to create compelling narratives in support of our business strategies.Location:This hybrid role is required to work at our DC office for 2 days/week.Compensation:The US base salary range for this full-time position is $155,000-$170,000 + equity + benefits. The final starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
