Job Summary:

The dynamic vehicle electrification, industrial and commercial market spaces are undergoing transformational growth. High power modules are no longer an off-the-shelf semiconductor solution, but rather an integral part of the overall power electronics architecture. We are seeking a passionate design for quality specialist with expertise in power semiconductors to come on board onsemi’s Power Solutions Group and be part of our quest to be the global Intelligent Power solutions leader.

We have an innovative portfolio of IGBT & Silicon Carbide (SiC) high power modules and we look forward to enhance our product roadmap with creative solutions that enables us to meet our customer needs. The successful applicant will be based in either our San Jose, CA or Scottsdale, AZ office.

This is an individual contributor senior technical ladder role, equivalent to that of a senior manager. Candidates without relevant experience or qualifications need not apply.

Responsibilities

You have ownership of Design for Quality. We want you to lead design for quality initiatives for power modules.You will drive a team of electrical, thermal and mechanical designers to implement rugged designs that are highly reliable and yet cost competitive.You will work with the extended R&D and manufacturing organizations to ensure highest degree of quality and strict adherence to quality processes.You will partner engineering teams to drive product level DFQM, DFMEA and PFMEA.You have the responsibility to consolidate customer quality requirements, alongside industry quality standards and create a holistic design for quality strategy at product level.

Qualifications

Minimum bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics or related technical field. Master's degree in a relevant field of work is higher desirable.At least 10 years of experience in power semiconductors and power electronics, with preference to candidates with experience in the automotive electrification market space.Working knowledge with industry wide quality standards, either in automotive or non-automotive market spaces.Team player and able to lead globally located cross functional teams.Strong verbal and written communications skills, fluency in English a must.Travel on a need-to basis.
