The Janesville Gazette is seeking an experienced sports editor to lead our sports department and to coordinate regional coverage as needed with sports staff across southern Wisconsin. We’re seeking a seasoned editor with at least 2 years of demonstrated success in managing a daily newspaper sports department and experience supervising sports reporters. We are a digital-first operation with preference given to candidates who know how to produce exceptional podcast, web and social media content. Photography skill is a bonus.Janesville is a city of 65,000 people with two public high schools and NCAA Division III athletics powerhouse UW-Whitewater just up the road. Top candidates will be passionate about high school and college sports and will also understand the importance Gazette readers place on national sports coverage.
