The RoleThe Manager of Digital Media is responsible for executing Liberty Science Center's brand across a variety of social media channels. This includes a heavy focus on:

collaborating with LSC's Communication Director to implement a social media strategy that continues to drive our mission, increase online audiences, enhance our marketing, and increase tickets sales in line with LSC's growth strategy;maintaining the brand content on our website (LSC.org);managing and maintaining LSC's social media presence, including posting content,responding to comments and messages, and managing brand sentiment;creating and curating engaging and shareable content across all social media platforms (in collaboration with the team);growing LSC's audiences via active, meaningful, and targeted social engagement;working with an outside advertising agency to support the paid digital components of LSC's marketing campaignsIn addition, the Manager oversees a complex calendar of programs and is the primary writer for the digital team. The Manager of Digital Media is LSC's onsite reporter, telling our brand story across multiple channels for a wide variety of audiences.

This position reports to the Communications Director. The Manager will also collaborate frequently across internal teams (photo, video, graphic design, editing, STEM education, and with other content area experts) to develop and execute digital content.

Website Management

Oversee the management of all content on LSC.org and SciTechScity.com working closely with cross departmental product owners, and the in-house creative team (photo, video, graphic design, editor)Work with Digital Communications Coordinator to set up and manage photo and video shootsLiaise with external web developers to enhance customer experience on LSC.org and implement ticketing innovationsSocial Media

Help to define and execute a social media strategy that supports institutional goals, balancing sales promotions with interesting content to foster an engaged online communityResponsible for day-to-day social media activity, ensuring consistency of messages across multiple networks and continuous monitoring of all sitesContribute to PR efforts by providing media support as needed, help maintain a social media influencer program, and participate in marketing eventsWork with cross-divisional teams and external partners to generate interesting contentStay up to date with pop culture, education, and tourism social media trends to connect LSC to the larger online conversationAdvertising

Manage a budget used to support LSC's rich content social media strategy and boosting of organic contentWork with the internal Marketing Team and external advertising agency on digital advertising components of LSC advertising campaignsP referred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Requires Bachelor's degree, with a major in Advertising, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, New Media, Journalism or related field3 years of relevant work experienceBasic HTML and comfort with a variety of CMS platformsSolid understanding of the social media universe, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, Snapchat, LinkedIn, TikTok, blogging, and a desire to keep up with new and emerging trends and platformsTop notch writing skills that can be adjusted for multiple audiences and intentionsExceptional organization skills and project managementEffective in-person, virtual, and email interviewer adept at uncovering interesting details and anglesBasic photo and video editing skillsAdvertising agency experience is a plusClassification

and ScheduleThe Manager of Digital Media is a full-time, exempt position, that is bonus and benefits eligible.

This is a full-time position. Some evening and weekend hours will be expected. This position has a particular obligation to help support the weekly LSC After Dark adult-only events

Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis role provides leadership for the Coordinator of Digital Media and helps to supervise interns and freelance creative contributors.

CompensationLiberty Science Center offers a competitive salary in the range of $55,000-$65,000 depending on experience. In addition to compensation, Liberty Science Center offersa generous benefits and perks package for all eligible full-time employees, including:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Manager will operate standard office equipment, such as computer, phone, and a scanner. The person must be able to navigate the museum experiences to gather content as necessary, stand for long periods of time, maneuver quickly through crowds, and tolerate busy and loud environments.
