The Associate Director of Sales and Marketing will partner with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Timbers Corporate Hospitality Sales team to help oversee all aspects of the sales and marketing division. The primary responsibility of the associate director position is to drive leisure and group sales, while serving as a mentor to the Leisure Sales Manager, who will directly report to this position.

Job Duties & Essential Functions

Translate strategies into local and regional tactical plans to drive budgeted revenue.Ensure smooth and clear communication between the leisure sales, group sales and catering sales organizations.Build and establish agreed sales processes to aid communication and commercial success.Represent our hotel in key markets for the company.Build relationships with existing clients.Increase corporate contracted business both local and global to the group.Identify and create new relationships from the corporate, Travel Trade & MICE segments.Research and analyze different programs for the hotel to identify new leads and accounts from all markets.Identify a targeted number of new account opportunities. Both locally and internationally and acquire these accounts from all key markets.Plan & conduct sales calls in key target markets as required.Management of the strategies relating to the sourcing, identifying and development of new business.Manage familiarization trips to nurture new business and highlight the unique features of our hotel.The Associate Director of Sales oversees training, development and on-the-job coaching of the Sales Team. This also includes succession planning and future talent banking.Participate at relevant trade shows and networking events as required.Attend internal and external meetings & events as required.Produce production reports as required by the Director of Sales & Marketing.Be flexible and adaptable in working in other key sales areas where necessary.Strong communicator, both written and orallyAbility to work with the resort team members & corporate team to accomplish goals on a timely basisAbility to analyze marketing opportunities and ad effectivenessOther duties as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing and General Manager.

SYSTEM KNOWLEDGE

Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Mac/iOS, WordPress, Photoshop/InDesignVarious communication platform’s (Navis, Salesforce, SynXis)Strong understanding of working within content management systemsExperience with HTML/MJML formats

Education & Experience

3-5 years’ experience in hotel sales in a leadership role, or demonstrating progressive advancement within the sales fieldExtended experience within the luxury hotel/travel industry and/or lifestyle sector preferredA track record of successfully designing and delivering major, multi-channel, response drivenExperience of managing suppliers, partnerships, marketing budgets and long-term strategic planning
