Required Qualifications

8+ years experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code

OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production codeOR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production codeOR equivalent experience2+ years people management experience

Preferred Qualifications

Engineering experience working with front-end technologiesProven experience leading teams of UX Engineers, preferably within a design organizationA passion for design and technology and the desire to blend these areas together to create innovative solutionsAttention to detail, with the ability to match red-lines and design specsA deep understanding of core front-end technologies especially HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScriptProven experience translating design comps into accessible experiencesAbility to collaborate and work effectively cross functionally with other teams (Design, Research, Engineering, PM)GitHub or other links showcasing your development skills OR a UI/UX portfolio is requiredExperience working through ambiguity and competing prioritiesExperience working with HTML custom elements or Web Component libraries (lit, FAST, etc ) preferredPassion for invention, human-computer interaction, and seamless user experiencesPrevious experience or knowledge in the Design Systems spaceWorking knowledge of visual design tools such as FigmaA desire to find out how things work and how to make them betterThe ability to wear many hats and contribute across disciplinesExperience working with a multi-disciplinary team of designers and developersSolid brainstorming skills, from participation to leadershipAn interest in web-standards, technology, and trends, with an eye toward the future

UX Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.

Partner with our Brand and Design System team to help ensure design excellence in our process , workflows , and what we deliver to customersCoordinate planning and execution of technical projects with design, engineering, and PM teamsInspire, grow, and manage a team of UX engineers at different levels of experience and skill setsGet your hands dirty in code, turning designs into accessible, performant, and shippable production code while partnering and iterating to make them delightful our usersOffer constructive feedback in the design and engineering process followed by creative and effective solutionsCommunicate to stakeholders when technology constraints require design or engineering compromisesFollow best practices and provide code review feedback to your peersCollaborate with others to bring ideas to life and create prototypes that convey experience intentions when static comps can't tell the whole storyEvangelize, document and teach our engineering partners about the capabilities of the Design System; listening to pain points and driving updates to process, components and resources to enable easier adoption and cohesionCommunicate effectively with stakeholdersPartner and collaborate with our Fluent UI Design and Engineering counterparts
