The Marketer Experience product management team’s mission is to maintain Starbucks as an industry leader in modern digital marketing, by unlocking the value of our marketing strategy through judicious investments in our marketing technology capabilities. We lead the way with curiosity and clear intent, for our marketing teams to deliver best-in-class experiences to our customers.

As a principal product manager, you always see the big picture. You know our marketing strategy, you know our MarTech capabilities and emerging technology opportunities, and you combine them to chart a course to put Starbucks in the best possible position to deliver on our full potential. You’re a strategic, creative digital product leader with deep experience setting roadmaps and continuously delivering value from a broad product portfolio.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Developing a portfolio-level roadmap with a 3-year horizon and vision that reflects Starbucks marketing strategy.Working with multiple product managers to orchestrate their roadmaps into a cohesive product portfolio to drive successful business outcomes as defined by cascading OKRs.Owning performance of the product portfolio against portfolio-level OKRs.Keeping our catalog of marketing use cases up to date and continuously applying a prioritization framework to ensure clarity of purpose for all work happening in the portfolio.Applying deep and wide-ranging industry and marketing technology expertise for strong customer acquisition and engagement. Using up to date knowledge of emerging technology capabilities to recommend innovative solutions.Aligning business solutions with technology strategy to maximize continuous improvement and minimize total costs of ownership.Influencing technical and architectural decisions as needed to help Starbucks build for the future while continuously unlocking business value.Leading cross-functional discussions as a key problem solver across marketing, data science, engineering, and architecture, and from team to executive levels to make sound decisions, negotiate tradeoffs and maintain agility.Representing marketing strategy and use cases in vendor selection or engagements.Leading facilitation and negotiations cross-functionally, with vendors on complex engagements.Serving as a highly respected product management leader; developing team members’ product management skills and business acumen through direct mentoring and coaching.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information technology, or relevant field. Masters’ degree preferred.Strong track record of using customer research, analytics, financial, and technical data to align stakeholders on product recommendations and prioritization (6 years)Track record of mapping marketing strategy to specific use cases and measurable deliverables (6 years)Demonstrated ability to work with design and engineering to plan and deliver technology solutions with an emphasis on continuous improvement and a test-and-learn mindset (6 years)Hands on experience in developing product roadmaps, and setting priorities, as well as setting the product north star vision (4 years)Retail industry experience in marketing technology, with a record of successfully delivering complex solutions that meet strategic objectives (4 years)Track record of consistently operating using the SMART principleEffective at establishing shared goals for cross-functional teams and influencing cross-functionally to achieve themFluent in iterative product development concepts
