Director of Campus Life Services CommunicationsF_CLS AVCFull Time79467BRJob SummaryThe Campus Life Services (CLS) Director of Communications will play a pivotal role in developing, shaping, and executing CLS's communications strategy for physical and digital media to effectively convey its mission, promote CLS stories, and highlight CLS initiatives to diverse audiences. The Director will lead and provide oversight to the Documents and Media team and will be responsible for implementing comprehensive communications plans for physical and digital media and overseeing the creation of engaging multimedia content to enhance CLS's visibility and reputation. The CLS Director of Communications will manage the production of multimedia content, including videos, print, social media, and infographics, to effectively communicate with diverse UCSF audiences. The Director also will collaborate with the FAS Director of Communications and Engagement to execute within CLS the overall Finance and Administration vision and ensure alignment with messaging.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training10 years relevant progressive experienceThorough knowledge and understanding of technical applications including design concepts, various media and mediums, applications, etc. to effectively manage / supervise professional technical staffThorough knowledge of the location, including its mission, vision, goals, policies, and infrastructure; strong knowledge of current affairs and issues in higher education and / or health sciencesExcellent knowledge and understanding of all aspects of communications, including strategic planning for various media venues, technical aspects and requirements of various venues, and the most appropriate and effective applicationsExcellent skills to create, develop and implement long and short term strategic communications plansExcellent skills to advise and consult management on all aspects of communications, ranging from developing effective communication strategies to appropriately responding to inquiries regarding sensitive or complex issues or informationExcellent management skills to select, train, manage, motivate and evaluate professional communications staff to produce high quality work; skill to take corrective action as requiredExcellent analytical, critical thinking, project management and problem recognition, avoidance and resolution skillsExcellent skills to ensure production of high-quality work within budget and time constraintsPreferred QualificationsExcellent knowledge and skills in financial and personnel administration and managementUC, UCSF, and/or Campus Life Services knowledge and experience; knowledge fo UCSF organizational and communications structureExperience developing communications campaigns in a university or other complex environmentAbout UCSFThe University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care.
