Job Summary:

The Production Technical Designer will lead the production phase of technical design for all full-price styles; including hard woven, soft woven and knits. The production phase will include pre-production sample fittings and comments, grading, approving styles to bulk and post-production quality checking. This position works closely with all members of the design, development and production team. The Production Technical Designer will also take over SMS tech packs from a Development Technical Designer and manage a smooth transition of styles from post-market SMS all the way to quality checking the TOP samples.

The ideal Candidate will remain steadfast be willing to help wherever possible and finish all tasks with accuracy and speed as the production process will always come with problems to solve and changes to be made.

Responsibilities:Knowledge in Production Technical Design : Approve styles to bulk and assist with establishing size charts and implementation to assure consistency among styles.Fitting Expertise : Work with the design team to fit PP fit samples to their desired look and communicate to the factory effectively through tech packs.Grading Expertise:

Grade all styles accurately and consistently implement a well-rounded sizing chart.Broad knowledge of Factory Operations:

Work effectively with the Production Team and the factories to meet deadlines.Expertise on Fabric:

Conduct garment tests as needed and stay versed on government mandates / legislation relative to USA labelling requirements.Pristine Organizational Skills:

Use PLM software for style history housekeeping, tracking of production samples with the production team, communicating with factories, creating and updating comments of tech packs, managing and adhering to strict calendar production deadlines.Excellent communication skills:

Represent the production phase of the styles and communicate with all other departments and factories to ensure clear understanding and alignment throughout all fitting and samples comments and solutions are being followed.Qualifications

10 years+ of technical design experience including developing styles in production.Knowledge of pattern making and interpretation. Ability to problem solve fit issues through fixing pattern problems with the factory.Expertise on garment construction, patternmaking, grading, care labels, quality checking, fabrics and working with factories.Ability to determine care/disclaimer labels.Extensive knowledge of PLM and/or similar software.Expert in understanding on how the factories operate in production.Very strong organizational and time management skills to meet important deadlines.Keen eye to see fit and fabric issues and ability to solve with the team.Excellent communication skills with a focus on fostering teamwork.Passion for the industry and creating excellent product.Knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop a plus.Associate degree or equivalent professional experience.
