Job Description

Verisk is seeking an Art Director that will lead in raising the bar on the aesthetic and quality of visual design across our digital and print platforms. Reporting to the AVP of Creative Solutions, the Art Director will direct and articulate their vision to the design team to create visually appealing marketing pieces that tell the story of the Verisk brand. In addition, they will translate creative briefs or ideas into pleasing and accessible designs for physical and digital products, using design principles to ensure visual brand guidelines are followed. To succeed the art director should be creative, and a communicative multitasker with exceptional project and time management skills. They will advocate for design excellence and define visually compelling ideas for new and existing content types, focusing on how to scale their ideas with templates, documentation, and design systems. They should be punctual, perceptive, and detail-oriented with a great mind for developing the concepts and visuals of a campaign.

The role is based in New York (Jersey City, NJ) or Boston, MA with a hybrid work schedule, with 2 days in-office. Travel up to 20% of the time to connect with geographically dispersed technology team, business stakeholders and clients.

Responsibilities:Understand internal client needs and artistic concepts developed by creative directors.Develop design strategies for physical and digital products.Lead a team of designers including developing/mentoring, and inspiring the design team, and working with internal clients and external agencies on concept development.Ensure high-quality products are crafted on time and within budget.Meet with internal clients to determine their goals and ideas for certain projects.Share ideas with clients and creative teams, employing storyboards, mockups, and other elements for visualizing concepts.Meet with creative director, and other senior leaders to align on visions for projects.Approve artwork and design decisions by graphic designers, and other creative team members where applicable.Reassess timelines and budget limits, adjusting when needed.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field.Background in graphic design, UX design, or a related field.Experienced in leading visual campaigns from concept to final release.Application of visual brand including typography, color, and other visual elements.Ability to multitask and manage many projects at once.At least 8-10 years of professional experience.Previous success in a managerial position guiding creative teams.Expert knowledge of graphic design and graphic design principles.Understanding of accessible UI and UX design principles.Project management skills, such as budgeting and developing timelines.Expert knowledge of graphic design tools including the Adobe Creative SuiteExtensive knowledge of UX design tools like Adobe XD, Sketch or Figma a plusWorking knowledge of design collaboration tools like InVision and Miro a plus.Soft Skills:
