To illuminate the future by revolutionizing the solar industry! We as a Product Design Team are avid about understanding what can make solar adoption easier for everyone, but also want to empathize with property owners and how we can make property enhancements a better experience!
What you'll do at Solo:
• Contribute to overall strategy and decision-making about product direction.
• Help deliver clear storytelling around customer needs and business opportunities.
• Work cross-functionally with product management, engineering, and design peers.
• Create, collaborate, and iterate on flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals.
• Design and ship high-quality features and product improvements.
• Provide thoughtful feedback to your peers while also benefiting from strong personal and professional mentorship opportunities.
Requirements
Experience Level:
As a UX/Product Designer at Solo, you might want to be familiar with Figma's career leveling, as we borrow a lot from them. This position is intended to align with their described L1 Design level. These are their 4 "core skill areas":
1. Product Strategy: Defining requirements, research, vision
2. Collaboration: Communication, process and feedback, mindset
3. Craft: Visual design, interaction design and prototyping, systems design
4. Impact: Business impact, leadership, design citizenship
We also add consideration for the following skills/traits:
• Range: Adaptability and flexibility, bridging various domains, exploring new things
• Empathy: Understand users, anticipate needs and fears, know who you're designing for
Our Tool Stack:
Probably nothing too out of this world. Familiarity is a plus, but we also expect excitement and tenacity when learning and utilizing new software and methods. Some of our tools include:
• Figma - Design Systems, App Flows, and more
• FigJam - Every day note taking, meetings, brainstorming, and more
• ClickUp - Task Management and Documentation
• Storybook - Design System and Documentation
• Chromatic - Review of Visual Changes in Code
• and more
Opportunity: Launchpad to Greatness
On our Product Design Team, you'll be more than a stowaway. You'll:
1. Design Solar Dreams: Leverage the Galileo Design System to help earth-inhabitants and other space dwellers rave about Solo.
2. Explore the Cosmos: Classify the known worlds and identify new ones, as you pioneer innovative ideas and lightspeed technology.
3. Collaborate with Stars: Work alongside our stellar team, learning from the best while also helping us achieve galactic dominance!
4. Prototype the Universe: Turn user journeys, wireframes and flows into cosmic experiences.
Compensation and Benefits:
• Stellar Stipend: We pay in stardust (just kidding, it's real money: $15 - $25/hr).
