Job Summary

The art, production, and design (APD) specialist student employee oversees, trains, and assists facilities stakeholders on the use of specialized and technical equipment within the College of Arts and Humanities. Areas of specialization can include proctoring facilities, assisting with broadcasts, and the repair and maintenance of assets. Other applicable tasks include editing, layout, design, writing, and photography that may support main media productions, KCLC, the Art and Design Print Lab, and/or the MakerSpace.

Job ResponsibilitiesProofreads to ensure circulated articles use consistent style and are error freeMaintains strict adherence to style guidelinesOversees, trains, and assists students on the day-to-day operation of specialized, technical, and dangerous equipmentCommunicates tool and equipment issues with supervisor as appropriateMonitors environmental compliance issues and assists with matters of workplace safetyAssists with regular maintenance and minor repairs of tools and equipmentSurveys, monitors, and documents facilities' conditions; oversees cleanliness and organization of facilitiesServes as a video production assistant for studio, sports, and field productionsCompletes setup and breakdown of television and digital cinema equipmentUtilizes skills such as audio mixing, camera and graphics operations, and technical direction (KCLC and LUTV) to assist in the production of television and radio programsDelivers a high level of professionalism at all timesWorks collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to create a positive and safe learning environmentAttends scheduled employee meetingsPost-produces media gathered from various sourcesOrganizes story- and production-related material and media, determines emphasis, and ensures style and formatting align with Lindenwood specifications and industry standardsDevelops story ideas utilizing assigned leads and tipsSupports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellenceJob may require other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.

Currently enrolled at Lindenwood UniversityGood academic and financial standing with the UniversityValid driver's licenseExperience with a variety of art-related media and equipmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
