Lighting Designer/Lighting Solutions Engineer

Technical, creative, and custom lighting solutions are part of the core competencies at Selux. Selux is looking for a hardworking individual to complement our dynamic Lighting Solutions team to provide distinctive, innovative, and integrated solutions to satisfy complex lighting challenges. The Lighting Solutions Engineer will require skills and knowledge of lighting design and technical problem solving to help Selux grow and progress.

Pay Range:

$65,000 - $90,000/yr.

Monday - Thursday 7:30 am - 5pm; Friday 7:30 am - 11:30 am

Responsibilities

Review custom requests and assist department manager by providing and communicating technical solutions to the customer

Create lighting calculations and comparisons utilizing AGi32, Photometric Toolbox, and AutoCAD

Create custom lighting solution drawings utilizing AutoCAD

Maintain overview of industry relevant lighting certification programs

Support coordination of photometric testing with outside laboratory

Maintain IES photometry library

Provide in-house lighting and/or product training for Selux employees, customers and representatives

Assist Regional Sales Managers and Project Management teams with technical questions

Provide technical support to customers

Collaborate with Marketing and Product Development team

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering, Lighting Design or equivalent experience

Experience with photometry and lighting calculations required

Strong computer skills, to include: AGi32, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Suite. Revit and Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, InDesign) is a plus.

Ability to read lighting layouts, lighting manufacturing engineering drawings, and schematics

Strong customer-service orientation

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Highly self-motivated with strong positive attitude

Ability to balance multiple tasks with keen attention to detail

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Deadline oriented

Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
