About the Role

As a Senior Design Systems Designer at Circle, your role extends beyond crafting cohesive and scalable design systems; you are a strategic partner influencing our community SaaS platform's future. You'll have a high degree of autonomy and will be entrusted with significant responsibilities, shaping our design system and ensuring it's robust, scalable, and user-friendly. Your work will contribute to Circle's growing impact in the creator economy. As Circle strives to be the go-to platform for creators looking to scale their communities and monetize their content, your role will be instrumental in turning that vision into a reality.

What you'll be doingLead the design, development, and maintenance of Circle's design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across all products.Collaborate with product designers, developers, and other stakeholders to create and implement a comprehensive design system that includes components, patterns, and guidelines.Create detailed documentation and guidelines for the design system to ensure its proper use and adoption across teams.Conduct regular audits of the product to identify areas for improvement and ensure its alignment with current design trends and best practices.Leverage analytics and user data to identify design opportunities, optimize user experience, and guide your design decisions.Facilitate design system workshops and training sessions for internal teams to promote understanding and effective use of the design system.Advocate for the design system within the organization, communicating its value and importance to senior leadership, developers, and other stakeholders.Stay updated on the competitive landscape, keeping tabs on competitor movements and emerging trends in technology, design styles, and user engagement.Be proactive in researching improvements in the broader design and tech scene, and bring fresh ideas to the table.Engage in various forms of communication-including asynchronous-to update teams, ask the right questions, and proactively remove blockers in your design process.Actively participate in the review process as a feature nears launch, ensuring it meets the highest UI and UX standards.Work hand-in-hand with developers throughout the implementation process, offering design guidance and ensuring fidelity to the original design.What you'll need to be successful

Strong alignment with our values. Find our values on our career page if you haven't read up on them yet.You are proficient in English (spoken, written, and reading) at a CEFR Level C1 / ILR Level 5.5+ years of experience in product design with a focus on design systems, demonstrated through a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise.Proficiency in Figma, demonstrating your skill in creating detailed, high-fidelity design mockups and prototypes.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex design concepts clearly and persuasively.Experience in creating and maintaining design systems, with a deep understanding of component-based design and scalability.A data-driven approach, leaning on both qualitative and quantitative insights to guide your designs.Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with multiple departments.Keen attention to detail, ensuring a seamless and pixel-perfect end product.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is preferred.

$130,000 - $140,000 a year

The cash compensation range shown is a starting point. In addition to equity, benefits and perks, your cash compensation is subject to an annual review and increase on a once per year basis.
