UX Designer

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in engaging clients, mapping patterns, and busting complexity in partnership with product and engineering leads in the pursuit to craft experiences for our clients that solve challenging problems for K-12 administrators and educators.Through collaborative problem-framing and ideation, this candidate will make sense of user needs to deliver designs that elevate our clients’ experience and impact the business.

Responsibilities:

Take ownership over an end-to-end experience within Frontline’s portfolio independently accruing deep understanding of the particular domain, personas, and scenarios that embody that experience.Align key stakeholders of that experience to a shared understanding of our customers and customer problems.Partner with product and engineering leaders to maintain and improve that experience, participating in collaborative efforts to frame key customer problems and design the right solutions.Plan and execute on research and design initiatives using best practices and methodologies (e.g. user interviews, user story maps, user journeys, task flows, concepts, wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and usability tests)Partner with engineering to ensure the inclusion of technical constraints and opportunities in the design process.Identify current and target user behaviors that inform and validate success for new experiences after they are launched.Succinctly advocate your efforts, point of view, and rationale in support of the voice of the customer in design critiques, reviews, meetings, stakeholder presentations, and other company-wide design efforts.Enjoy being part of an incredibly talented team of designers who know when to relax, when to roll up our sleeves, and when to lean on each other.During a typical week in this role, you will:

Define design approach based on research and or requirements and execute in a way that is self-organized, time-managed, and highly collaborative.Contribute to and facilitate ideation sessions and requirements gathering to move your work forward with key product and engineering leaders who may either be located in our office or remote.Share your progress and thought processes for feedback with a UX design team that will supports you, walk alongside you, and cheer for you.Equally express your own perspective, ideas, and feedback to the team and individual designers.Execute on design strategies alongside the team that further design maturity within the organization (e.g. Design System, UX Analytics, Platform Heuristic Evaluations, VP and Executive Presentations)Proactively and intentionally reflect, learn, and grow in your career through the direct support of your UX Manager.Soft skills we are looking for in a candidate:

1-3 years of successful personal research and design contributions to enterprise-level experiences.Ability to participate in user research and independently plan out and design initiatives.Ability to articulate the relationship between your design decisions and HCI/accessibility principles, best practices, and heuristics.Ability to succinctly present ideas, progress, and outcomes through verbal and visual communication to internal stakeholders.General awareness of and competency with any one or more common design tools for digital products (e.g. Sketch, Invision, Studio, Figma, Framer, Marvel, Principle, XD, etc.).
