We are seeking an experienced and innovative

Product Designer

to join a pivotal program within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role is essential for creating accessible, user-validated interfaces for medical devices, platforms, and data. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in front-end development, including proficiency in Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and a strong background in designing HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2-compliant web and mobile applications specifically for the VA. Technical leadership in government software projects, including writing software requirements and design specifications for government-hosted medical systems, is a must.

Please note, this position is contingent upon award (expected July/August 2024).

Primary Responsibilities:

User-Centered Design:

Develop and implement user-validated interfaces, ensuring that all designs are accessible and engaging for users interacting with medical devices, platforms, and data.Front-End Development:

Utilize advanced skills in Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to build and maintain production-level web and mobile applications that meet the rigorous standards required for VA systems.HIPAA Compliance:

Design, develop, test, and operate web and mobile applications that are fully compliant with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations, ensuring the protection of sensitive health information.Technical Leadership:

Provide technical leadership for government software projects, guiding teams through the process of writing software requirements and design specifications for government-hosted medical systems.Collaborative Development:

Work closely with engineers, UX/UI designers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure that product designs align with user needs and program objectives.Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field.7+ years of experience with front-end development, including expert-level knowledge of Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.7+ years of experience designing accessible, user-validated interfaces for medical devices, platforms, and data.3+ years of technical leadership experience in government software projects, with a proven track record of writing software requirements and design specifications for government-hosted medical systems.1+ years of experience designing, developing, testing, and operating HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2-compliant production web and mobile applications for the VA.Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality designs and projects.Deep understanding of user experience design principles and methodology.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Knowledge of the latest design tools and software.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Preferred Qualifications:

$120,000 - $130,000 a year

This range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as Trilogy Federal conducts an individual equity review for every candidate based on experience, location, education, industry experience, and comparisons to internal pay bands.
