Amazon Web Services is seeking a talented UX Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will collaborate frequently with cross-functional teams to design and enhance user experiences for an enterprise-level application. This role requires a strong focus on creating intuitive, innovative, and user-centered designs that are rooted in customer needs, while delivering the level of UX excellence that is expected.

Key job responsibilities

We are seeking a UX/Product Designer specializing in interface and visual product design to shape and create various software application services and contribute to a design system. You will play a key role in conceptualizing, prototyping, and producing detailed designs, collaborating closely with product and tech teams to deliver a customer-focused digital product.

Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.

Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.

Maintain and contribute to our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across products.

Contribute to the design of useful, usable, and desirable products in a team environment.

Understand customers and their needs through market analysis, customer research, and feedback.

Use business requirements to assist in developing use cases and high-level requirements.

Facilitate the design process, present and iterate design solutions.

Applies systems-level design thinking to drive scalable solutions from the team

Communicates effectively within the team, across peer groups, and upwardly to senior leadership levels

A day in the life

In our organization, the UX designer will be empowered and expected to translate requirements into innovative solutions. You will collaborate regularly with product managers, designers, and senior leaders to ensure alignment on designs that address customer problems. Additionally, the designer will handle multiple projects simultaneously, making strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task essential.

About the team

As part of the AWS Applications group, we’re building a new and exciting category of products in Supply Chain Management from the ground-up at a global scale. This is a unique opportunity to work on a startup team within AWS to build something from scratch in a fast-paced environment with tremendous opportunity for career growth.

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of design experience

3+ years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience

Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices

Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, or similar

Knowledge of usability principles and techniques

Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI)

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of mass-market consumer web / mobile products experience

Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs

Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and design

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
