The Utah Jazz and Utah Hockey Club - franchises of Smith Entertainment Group (SEG) - are looking for an experienced 3D Motion Designer to join our dynamic creative services team. This position will primarily focus on creating 3D motion elements across the brands' touch points for Utah Hockey Club and Utah Jazz. These touch points will focus on game presentation hype videos but will also include motion elements for broadcast, social, and related marketing channels. In this role, you must have a good sense of visual composition, give and take direction, and be open to notes and feedback. You'll be able to combine your passion for sports with 3D motion. You should be able to see a project from concept to completion and bring new ideas to the creative voice of the team. You'll be able to work collaboratively and invite collaboration amongst your team in working closely with other departments. You'll be an effective communicator across the organization in explaining motion design choices. This is a full-time on-location position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Concept & execute 3D motion for hype videos and ice/court projectionsConcept & execute motion elements for use across the different brandsManage projects from start to finishEngage with the full marketing team to share research and new ideasIdentify gaps in current assets and suggest alternatives effectivelyKeep up to date on current trends and relevant technical innovationsCollaborate and communicate effectively in a team environmentThink outside of the box and be a problem solverOther duties as assignedEmbody the company values of Transparency, All-in, Community Obsessed, One Team, and ScrappyCOMPETENCIES:

Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite is required (such as After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro)Knowledge of 3D software is required (Cinema 4D, Blender, Houdini, Maya)Experience with projection mapping and software capabilities is preferredKnowledge of graphic design, typography, and color usageKnowledge of Essential Sounds and Essential Graphics is preferred (such as mogrts).Basic knowledge of color correction (experience in Lumetri Scopes or Da Vinci Resolve is a plus)Knowledge of conversion and style LUTsKnowledge of Expressions within After EffectsExperience with Dynamic Link in the Adobe Creative SuiteThe ability to sound mix and sound design is a plusUnderstand frame rates, codecs, resolutions, and other technical specifications for various deliveries of exports (such as social media, TV, and more)QUALIFICATIONS:

4 Year Degree preferredMinimum of 2-4 years of demonstrated professional experience working in a fast-paced production environmentInterest in the NHL and NBA is preferredFlexibility in schedule (such as nights, weekends, and holidays)Experience creating quick turnaround projects.Be hands-on and proactive.Passion for the design and creative processes.Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.Strong typographic eyePHYSICAL DEMANDS:
