Job DescriptionWood is currently recruiting for a Piping & Mechanical Designer with experience in the chemical manufacturing industry. You will be responsible for design work supporting small facility based projects in an active chemical manufacturing plant. Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship is required.Responsibilities Meet or exceed the company's safety standards Comply with all company procedures, engineering practices and other standards Fast paced work environment Work closely and interact with Project team members to achieve project success Plant Engineering Groups Internal and External Design Contractors Construction Contractors Maintenance Resources Read and fully understand all documents which describe the scope of work to be done Process Design Letters P&IDs Plans & elevations Isometrics Vendor Drawings Provide piping & mechanical designs for capital and maintenance projects Field as-built, measurement as required Apply company and industry standards to generate piping & mechanical construction drawings Create written field letters to describe required work Perform material take-offs and Create BOMs Assist with construction estimating Qualifications 5-10+ years industrial experience working in the design field Chemical Manufacturing or Related Industry Experience is required Experience with design of piping & mechanical systems Equipment Placement Drawings Verification - Updates for "As-Builts" Experience with Stress Analysis is a plus Field Design Experience Able to wear required PPE Operate Vehicles safely to job-site Climb Ladders and Stairs Field measurement Work Environment Proficiency in MicroStation is required Proficiency in Microsoft, Word, Excel and Outlook About UsWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
